Sonic and Tails are seen riding their iconic plane, the Tornado, time and again throughout the franchise. Naturally, it is also obtainable in Sonic Speed Simulator onRobloxas a rideable mount with unique abilities.
The mount can be obtained by competing an Event which isn’t necessary for progression, so you might have missed it in the main Story. This guide is here to show you where you need to go, and what the fastest way to complete the Event is so you’re able to soar through the skies in no time flat! First, we’ll need to visit Tails in Emerald Hill.
Tornado Assault Event
The Tornado Assault Event is apermanent Event located in Emerald Hill. It’s one of the few Events not located in the spawn area, and instead it sitsa bit further awayas its own attraction.
As seen in the image above, you’ll need tocross the two bridges at spawnto reach the Event. The Event itself then has a teleport which takes you to another area.
The Event is amini-gamewhere you will fly the Tornado through Sky Rings whilst shooting Badniks. Your score dependson a few factors, and is accumulated with every extra run you do, rewarding you atthe following Point requirements:
So, in order to get the Tornado, we need to finishthe whole Event.
The Chao and Trails here arecomplementary rewardswith stats that aren’t very impressive, and Aviator Tails is a character with aLuck bonus stat!
Tornado Assault Mini-game
In the mini-game, you will ride the Tornado through a level filled withBadniks, Rings and Sky Rings. You will gain points as follows:
At the end of the run, you will be given a rating up to S-rank. The rating is simply there to give you an idea of how well you did, and in a perfect run, you’re able to gainaround 1,250 Points, which would give you the S-rank, but that is if youdon’t miss almost any Badnik or Sky Ringthat is available in the level. Higher Points than 1,250 are possible, though there is no reward for doing so.
Each time you complete a run, the Points you scoredare added to the sum back at the Eventin Emerald Hill; so, in order to get the Tornado, you’ll need to complete this mini-gamequite a couple of times.
Tornado Assault Strategy For The Most Points Possible
The strategy here is tonever let go of your shoot button, which is in regular gameplay your jump button. Youwon’t run out of ammo, so focus on destroying every Badnik you see.
The Tornado willlock onto a Badnik if it’s in front of it, and once locked on, the bullet willhome in on the enemyeven if you move out of the way. What you’re looking for, then, is that you’ve locked in on any Badnik you see.
At many points in the level, you’ll seea line of Rings in front of you. If you can quickly count how many Rings are in front of you, and you have to choose between Rings and Sky Rings, only go with Rings if there aremore than ten of them- otherwise, you’re going for everySky Ringthat you see, as these are worth the most Points.
Finally, at the free-falling part of the mini-game, you can accelerate down, but we actuallyadvise against doing this. You can go so fast that you’ll be fallingfaster than the Sky Rings are loading, so you may lose out on a couple of last-minute Points.
Following this strategy, you should be looking atabout 1,200 Points per game, give or take. At this rate, you can expect to have the Tornado inonly about 25 runs!
How To Equip The Tornado
The Tornado should bein your Mounts menuonce you complete the Event, in thespecialized Tornado section. It behaves differently from other mounts, in a few ways.
For starters, you may’t boost whilst on the Tornado, but you can shoot much like in the mini-game. The Tornado is the only way to have afree flightin the game, other than flying with Super characters - but those characters can only fly in a straight line, whilst the Tornado canfly in any direction you like.
Upon contact with terrain, the Tornado will despawn, so you’ll need to fly carefully if you’re looking to get to higher ground.
