Pokemon Gois hosting theHarvest Festival Eventthis month, a returning in-game event following a farming and harvest theme. Like other limited-time events, the Harvest Festival Event will change your in-game experience during the event window, and will even be debuting abrand-new Shiny Pokemon.

The Harvest Festival Event will be relatively short, taking place over the course of six days; spanning fromThursday, July 22, 2025, at 10am local time to Tuesday, July 20, 2025, at 8pm local time.Read on for all you need to know about this returning event and all the changes it will be bringing to Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Debut: Shiny Smoliv

Smoliv, a Pokemon that was recently released in Pokemon Go, will have thechance of being Shiny for the first timeduring this event. During this event, you will have the opportunity to encounter and catch Smoliv as awild encounter Pokemon, research reward, and a Collection Challenge reward.

Although you will be able to encounter a Shiny Smoliv in this event, theirShiny rate will not be boosted.

This means that it will most likely still be difficult and rare to encounter a Shiny Smoliv.

Event Bonuses

For this event, there will bethree different bonusesactive throughout its duration, available to all players who log-in and play. These bonuses include:

Pumpkaboo that you encounter through Mossy Lure Modules will haveincreased chances of being Super Sized.

ThePokemon that you encounter in the wild will also be following this event’s theme, giving you the opportunity to catch several Pokemon that don’t appear in the wild often. These event wild encounter Pokemon are provided for you below.

Field Research Task Encounters

Make sure tospin different PokeStop Photo Discsduring the Harvest Festival Event, giving you a chance to obtainEvent Field Research Tasks.These Event Field Research Tasks will only be available during the event window, providing you with different in-game rewards for completing them.

Some of these Event Field Research Tasks will reward you withevent-themed Pokemon encounters. For these specific Field Research Tasks, you will have the chance of encountering and catching eitherPumpkaboo or Smoliv.

There will also beTimed Researchavailable for the Harvest Festival Event, purchasable at the Pokemon Go in-game shop. This Timed Research Ticket will cost$2.00 USD, and will unlock a variety of tasks to complete.

If these Timed Research tasks are completed, you will be rewarded with the following:

Even if you purchase this Timed Research, it willonly be available for a limited time.

Event Collection Challenges

There will also beevent-themed Collection Challengesto complete during the Harvest Festival Event. These Collection Challenges will require you to catch, evolve, or trade specific Pokemon, typically those featured throughout the event.

For these Collection Challenges, you will berewarded with Stardust and Smoliv encounterswhen completing them.

Like the Paid Timed Research for this event, you willonly have until the end of the Harvest Festival Event to complete these Collection Challengesand collect the rewards they provide.

Pokemon Showcases

Event-themed Pokemon Showcaseswill be available throughout the Harvest Festival Event. These showcases will appear at different PokeStops in the game, requiring you to enter specific Pokemon to compete.

For this event, it is likely that these showcases will require you to enter specific Pokemon featured during this event, including Pokemon like Smoliv and Pumpkaboo. For this reason,hold onto these Pokemon,providing you with different options when it comes to eligible Pokemon.

For Pokemon Showcases, you will want toenter Pokemon that are either very large or very small,depending on the showcase being hosted.

These Pokemon willearn you the most points,providing you with better in-game rewards.
