As Season 23 started inApex Legends, Rift Relics started appearing across the maps. With each passing week, a new quest gets released involving the Rift Relics in some fashion - and in Split 2, we got a new weapon exclusive to the Relics.
As these quests reward Apex Packs, you might want to complete them - so this guide is here to aid you in finding the Rift Relics, what you can hope to find in them and what you should look out for when going for them. Let’s dive into the rift, then, by first explaining what they are.
What Are Rift Relics
Rift Relics are Loot Ticks withexclusive loot inside them. They spawn across the mapin Casual modes only, so Trios and Duos and loot found inside themisn’t obtainable anywhere elsein the game.
Each Rift Relic containstwo itemspicked randomly from the list of possible drops and can be destroyed by dealing damage like a regular Loot Tick.
Possible drops includeRelic Weapons and Boost Kits.
What Are Relic Weapons
Relic Weapons are"launch" versions of weapons; that is to say, they are what the weapons used to behave like when they were released.
For example, the G7 Scout used to have very little recoil and could have a Sniper Scope attached to it - so the Relic G7 comes with a 4-8x Sniper Scope attachment and similarly has reduced recoil.
The only exception to this is theEPG-1, which is acompletely new weaponintroduced in Split 2, and was teased a while back to be coming to Apex. It comes to us from Titanfall 2, and it is technically classified as agrenade launcher, but works more like an RPG - sending outexplosive blasts of plasmaat your enemies.
What Are Boost Kits
Boost Kits arepassives that go in your survival slot(the slot usually reserved for Heat Shields, Evac Towers etc.).
They areincredibly strong buffsto your character, and have benefits that are far more impressive than the survival items you’d usually have.
They tend to be there for survivability more than offensive power, though there are Boost Kits that do offer damage as well.
How To Get Rift Relics
First, you’ll need to enter either a Duos or Trios game. The entire Rift Relic system isconsidered to be an LTM(Limited Time Mode), so Ranked does not include them.
Upon the match starting, and once all the players have dropped onto the map,the Rift Relics will start spawningacross it in random locations.
They will always bespaced apart, so you won’t find two in the same location. Once they start spawning, a notification will be displayed, and you’ll be able to seepurple beacons coming from the sky.
These beaconsmark the locations of Rift Relics, so be prepared for thechance to find enemiesheading for them as well. Once at the Rift Relic, break it to open it upand grab the loot that’s inside.
If two Boost Kits spawn from one Rift Relic, note thatonly one can be picked up; you’ll have to choose between the two.
After the first wave, each subsequent Ring closingwill have a new wave of Rift Relics spawn. Since the maps are smaller due to the Ring, the Rift Relics will spawna lot closer to one anotherwith each subsequent wave.
Rift Relics left over from previous rounds willexplode if they are in the Ring, and upon exploding, the loot that was insidewill be goneand won’t drop to the floor.
All Items That Can Spawn In Rift Relics
Each new week,a new item is added to the poolof possible loot you can find in the Rift Relics. That said, this isn’t the full list, as all the items haven’t been announced yet - these are just the current possible items.
From the current pool, these are theRelic Weaponsyou can expect to find from Rift Relics, ranked from best to worst:
Description
Relic Prowler
There’s a reason the Selectfire Hopup isn’t in the game anymore;it was absolutely broken on guns like the Prowler. Very little recoil, very high damage, paired with a huge magazine. This weapon rips.
Relic Alternator
Have you ever wanted to see shieldsdisappear while you blink? Disruptor Rounds used to make the Alternatorthe absolute best weapon in early Apexbecause of this, so it rightfully earns its place here.
Relic Mastiff
Barely beating the Akimbo Mosambiques with Hammerpoint, this shotgunused to be a beast in early Apex. It was a Care Package limited item, so you can imagine its combat potential as a random drop from Rift Relics.
Relic Spitfire
With its magazine size, you can easily cleartwo teams of people without reloading. The damage is out of this world, and the only reason it’s not higher on the list is due to it having no Hopups.
Relic Wingman
The staple weapon of Apex Legends, back from the glory days of its strength. It’s just as beautiful as we remember it, and it has a Skullpiercer.
EPG-1
The new weapon is abit situational, though having what’s essentiallyseven magazines of grenadeswith you at all times means that you’re able to clear teams that are hurdled together really easily.
Relic G7 Scout
Before the Marksman class of weapons, this wasthe best Sniper in the game. Very low recoil, and a large magazine; if you know how to use it, this weapon clears house.
Relic 30-30
Still a very strong Marksman weapon, it’s definitely a good choiceif you’d like range. Faster reloads and extra headshot damage make any marksman weep for the glory days of the 30-30.
Relic L-Star
The only weapon on this list that is actuallya bit better nowadays than when it was released. The damage here is way higher, but the modern L-Star can be equipped to hold more ammo, making it more versatile.
And, these are theBoost Kitsyou can hope to find, alsoranked from best to worst:
Void Reflex
Upon taking damage that would otherwise kill you, you willphase for a couple secondsso you can reposition to heal. The phase essentially works like Wraith’s phase, but it’s instant, and recharges after a while, saving you again. Absolutely the best Boost Kit right now.
Nessies
Adorable Nessies willchase and attack your opponents automatically. While they do reveal your position, kind of, they are amazing atdistracting the enemy and dealing some bonus damagealong the way. Very cute, but very powerful.
Reactive Regen
You will passively regenerate health and shieldswhile you’re out of combat. It’s useful forthe last few rings, if you were unlucky with finding healing items, but since Lootbins now restock, that isn’t likely. Still, for that scenario,it is useful.
Squal Heal
Whenever you heal, teammates close to you will be healed as well. It isn’t bad, but for this to work you really need to be close to your teammates, which isn’t the case more times than it is.
Hover
It lets youhover in midairwhile you ADS. It doesn’t have much use, since you’re very rarely in the air, andyou’d need to play around it- and even then, it doesn’t provide much.
