Aloftfeatures a vast world with many floating islands that you can explore. These islands may hold important knowledge or might be full of resources that you have yet to encounter. Some resources are much rarer, and you’ll have to look a little harder in order to get your hands on them.
The Hardstone is a crafting resource that can be used in multiple recipes and is an integral ingredient for strengthening your sailing equipment early on. However, finding this item can be quite a challenge as it isn’t too common, and you’ll have to explore several islands to gather a considerable reserve of Hardstone in your inventory.
How To Get Hardstone
Hardstone deposits are hard to miss because they appearpitch black, with a slight wavy pattern on them, and have a cube-like shape. You’ll often find it on islands during your exploration, but you’ll need a pickaxe to mine it.
You can craft a stone pickaxe by combining a stone, a sharp stone, and wood on a workbench.
As you approach a chunk of Hardstone,you’ll notice a small pickaxe icon. This icon indicates that you can mine this deposit with a pickaxe. You’ll need to equip a pickaxe and strike the Hardstone deposit repeatedly till it breaks. Keep in mind that mining Hardstonemay take more hits compared to regular stone chunks.
If you’re having trouble locating these Hardstone deposits, you may use a console command to add Hardstone pieces to your inventory. To do that, you’ll need to press F1 and enter “give hardstone x”, you can replace the x with the number of Hardstone pieces that you require.
How To Use Hardstone
The Hardstone is used in plenty of crafting recipes. you may craft carved wood by combining wood with Hardstone, which can then be used tocraft shears or wooden cogs. Shears allow you to harvest wool from sheep, while wooden cogs can be used tocraft wool-based sailing equipment, which can allow you to travel through the storm safely to the second biome.
