When you first begin your journey inBrighter Shores, the world is truly your oyster. With so many items to gather, recipes to craft, and monsters to fight, it can be tough to decide what to do first. No matter where you start, almost everything you do in the game will progress your character in some way.

Foraging is a gathering profession in the first chapter, Hopeport, allowing you to pick up materials needed for crafting various recipes. Here’s everything you need to know about gathering Brown Kelp, the first gatherable material in the Forager profession.

Where To Find Brown Kelp

Brown Kelp is a level zeroForaging resourcethat is used to makebasic healing potions. If you plan on leveling your Alchemy and Foraging, you’ll be needing loads of this material, so it is best to get familiar with where it’s sourced from.

Brown Kelp can be found in two locations inHopeport: theEast BeachandJellyfish Landing. These areas can be found to thesouth and west of the Town Squareand main street of Hopeport.

Visually, Brown Kelp looks like amass of light-brown rags, but it’s distinct enough from other objects in the area that you should have no problem spotting it.

At certain levels, Brown Kelp will beupgraded into higher tiers of Kelp. Here’s every level of Kelp you’re able to gather as a Forager.
