In the wake of Minrathous getting attacked by a dragon and your choice to aid Treviso first inDragon Age: The Veilguard, things are more than grim. The Venatori have taken over the city and forced the Shadow Dragons into hiding, and their brutality is evident everywhere you look.
It’s no time to abandon the city or its people, but in the wake of the Venatori’s takeover, the Shadow Dragon has all but disappeared despite their constant presence in the city before. They wouldn’t have just given up their crusade to end slavery, and it’s up to you to find out what’s happened to them.
How To Find Evidence Of The Shadow Dragons
This quest is only available if yougo with Lucanis to Treviso instead of Minrathousafter both locations are attacked by dragons.
Upon arriving at Dock Town, you’llhave a fightinside the Shadow Dragon’s headquarters against anUnstoppable Executioner if you haven’t visitedbefore.
They don’t have any armor, but they havehigh HP and damage, so usecombo-able Companion skills against them, and they’ll go down quickly.
Go out to thestore attached to the building, and read thenote in the pool of bloodnear the stall for the first hint of what’s happened.
Due to the changes in the city, you’llhave to rediscover all the fast travel beaconsexcept for the one in the Shadow Dragon’s headquarters.
Navigate to a portion of the market on theupper-east side of Dock Town, and look for anote behind some wooden scaffoldingin a corner past the stalls, near where one of themurder victims is for the In Memoriam quest. Read it, and you’ll get a hint about where to go next.
Where To Find Dockside Jail
Next, go back to thebridge near the marketand headnorth through the courtyardwith the memorial, thenkeep following the path eastthrough the buildings until youreach the northern docks, taking out thefew groups of Venatorialong the way.
As soon as you arrive, you’ll havethree more Venatorito deal with:one armored mageand thentwo soldiers. Kill them, thenexamine the body on the groundby them.
You canbegin encountering non-boss versions of the Unstoppable Executioner, and they have a similar movement, with quick attacks and frequent teleportation.
It’s over to thesouthwestern docksnow, and if youhaven’t unlocked the fast travel beaconsthere yet, you’ll have to make your way down to it from theShadow Dragon’s headquarters beacon.
Kill the Venatori on the way to thelarge room on the western side, and you’ll find twodoors blocked by blood magiccrystals; one is an exit and the other is the main door, withthree shielding crystals floating aboveit.
When youstart to get rid of the smaller crystals, a group of Venatori will ambush you from behind, and you’llneed to stop breaking themto fight.
Once they’re dead, break whichever crystals are left, then go inside the jail andinvestigate the bodies on the floorto complete the quest. This time youwon’t get any EXP or Goldfor it, but you willget 100 Reputationwith the Shadow Dragons.
