Every game has its own host of NPCs, andLuma Islanddoes too. As you explore and settle into living on the island, you’ll meet all sorts of townspeople who act as professional mentors or friends to check in on. There are strange talking stones that tell you the history of the island, and even a mushroom humanoid.
The Mushroom Man, also known to some as Mr. Truffles, is one of the island’s oldest inhabitants, and it’s implied he’s been around since the ancient druids walked the lands with their Lumas. He enjoys keeping to himself and isn’t too fond of humans, but he won’t deny a paying customer.
Who Is The Mushroom Man?
The Mushroom Man is one of the many mysterious residents of Luma Island, and hesells specialty goods at his store, Mr. Truffle’s Extravaganza Shop.
It offers a variety ofbasic materials like regional woodsand stones, as well asregional items you can’t purchasefrom other shops, likefish and gems.
Instead of gold, heaccepts one of four Nature Tokens as payment, andeach shop asks for its regional equivalent, such as his shop on the Farm asking for Farm Nature Tokens.
Nature Tokens can be obtained bysearching treasure piles, defeating enemies, opening chests, and breaking barrels and vasesin a particular region.
Theone downsideto his shops is thathis stock is smallerfor thosebasic materialsthan others,such as the Carpenter’s Shopfor wood, and you’llneed to farm up more Tokensif you run out of them, as opposed to just selling things.
Despite that, the Mushroom Man’s excellent for those times when youneed one more of a gem or fishbut don’t feel like catching it if you’re pursuing theFisherman, Jewelrycrafter, or Archaeologist Professions, and he’s theonly way to get Everseedsoutside ofgetting lucky with chest loot.
You can buy Luma Power Food from the Mushroom Man anddouble the amount of Luma Energy you get per Luma each dayby feeding it to them.
All Mr. Truffle’s Extravaganza Shops And What They Sell
The Mushroom Man hasone shop in each region. All of them can befound almost as soon as you access an area, and theydon’t require any puzzlesto unlock them.
At first, you onlyhave a small variety of items availableto purchase, but thefirst time you find a regional itemsuch as afish,gem, treasure material such as Glue, orunlock a crop, theitem will be addedto the Mushroom Man’s respective shop inventory.

Mushroom Man’s shop on the Farm is located in thenortheastern corner of the map, on a hillabove the lake that contains Silver Snappersand that hasthe first Crystal Light puzzlenear it.

Mushroom Man’s shop inthe Forestis located on thewestern side of the region, on a ledgedown the hill next to the lake on the southwestern endwith Barkfin swimming around.

Mushroom Man’s shopin the Jungleis in thesoutheastern corner of the region, past the stone arch and on a small island that’sattached to a large bridgeyou need to repair.
His location in the Jungle is the most difficult to find, as theregion can be tough to navigatedue to working off thedrawn map Nelson gives you.
