There are a lot of bosses for you to take on inPath of Exile 2. Many of these bosses are part of the main story, but several bosses are completely optional. Of course, you still want to take these enemies on, as they may have a unique drop.
One optional boss that you can come across is the Crowbell. This unique boss isn’t the hardest to take on, but you may not entirely be sure where to find him. In this guide, we are going to take a look at where to find the Crowbell, as well as how to defeat him and what his rewards are.
Where Is The Crowbell?
The Crowbell is found in theHunting Grounds. This is anarea of Act One that you will pass through while completing the main story,so you won’t miss it.
Once here, you’ll need to explore the area for the location where the Crowbell battle happens. While running around, you may see adirt ‘arena’ that is surrounded by vines and has one entrance. When you spot one of these, look around for a nearby checkpoint; if there is one, then you are close.
This is where thefinal stageof the battle happens. You’ll need to chase the Crowbell here, so if it’s in an awkward position,be sure to note the path right to the entrance from the wooden gate;this will allow you to quickly follow him here without wasting any time.
Near the checkpoint, you’ll see a wooden gate; enter andproceed down the long path until you reach the end, where the Crowbell waits. This area will have a marker on it called ‘The Hunt Stone’. When you get here, the battle will begin!
How To Defeat The Crowbell
The Crowbell doesn’t just spend the entire battle standing in the end area of this pathway; instead,he will do some moving about. At first, he will stay in thearea near the Hunt Stone, but after fighting for a bit, he willmove to the area right at the entrance (near the giant bell).Once this portion ends,he will run off to the vine arena, which is the final location.
During this fight, there are a few things to watch out for. Overall, the Crowbelldoesn’t have the widest range of attacks, but they can be heavy-hitting.The Crowbell will dealswiping and slamming melee attacks,so if you dodge-roll away, you should be fine. The first phase of this fight is relatively easy;there is a wide enough area to run away if things get tough.
The second phase is slightly more difficult;the area itself is rather tiny, but the Crowbell will maintain the same swiping melee attacks. There isnot much space for you to move around here, so rather than running, dodge-rolling is key.
At around half HP, the Crowbell will begin topunch the ground several times(sending a shockwave of damage out) and thengrab the bell(hence, Crowbell). With bell in hand, he willtake off to the vine arena and begin attacking with the bell.At this point, the boss will begin to slam the bell on the ground dealing an AoE of damage.
The Crowbell uses the newly acquired bell tobreak the wooden gate, which is a pretty cool visual.
Here, you will just need tocontinue attacking and dodge-rolling as normal.Avoid the melee attacks that the Crowbell deals, but keep in mind thatthe bell attacks are stronger.During this section, the Crowbell willswing the bell around dealing a wide stretch of damage.
These bell swings arefairly slow,so while he is doing them, you can use this as an opportunity to deal a lot of damage. When he picks the bell back up from the ground, keep an eye on where he will swing next in order to dodge-roll away.
Continue like this until the Crowbell has been defeated, and thenpick up his loot.
Rewards For Defeating The Crowbell
As a reward for defeating the Crowbell, you’ll get ahandful of gold and some gear, but the real prize is theBook of Specialization, which grants youtwo Weapon Set Passive Skill Points. If you plan to take on the Crowbell again, he won’t drop the book a second time; you’ll still get some gear and gold though.
If you do plan to defeat the Crowbell again, you won’t be able to do it immediately. Instead, you’ll need to wait until the map resets and then come back.
