Despite its troubled launch and uncertain future,Mortal Kombat 1is still releasing excellent additional characters that elevate the cast and gameplay to new heights, with Conan the Barbarian being the most recent to take the stage. However, with each release,the rumor and search for the Pink Ninja, Floyd,was always looming in the background.

Finally, after months of speculation and hints from Nether Real Studios, the elusive and super secret Pink Ninja is in the game, allowing you to encounter them in Mortal Kombat for a chance to unlock a unique stage called The Field. The catch is that you must jump through many hoops to unlock this bout against Floyd!

How To Encounter Floyd

Before you’re able to unlock The Fieldstage in Mortal Kombat 1, you mustfirst run into the aforementioned Pink NinjanamedFloyd,which ismuch more complicated and complex than it may sound.To fight Floyd, you mustcomplete a handful of Floyd Challenges,which can range from a walk in the park to pretty challenging and everything in between.

The catch is that youcannot track these Floyd Challengesandwill not have access to all of themat once. Thus, youwill not know which ones you currently have access to until you complete them and receive a notificationthat the Floyd Challenge has been completed.

How To Tell If You Completed A Floyd Challenge

Completing a Floyd Challenge will display asmall Pink Iconon thelefthand sideof your screen that simply reads’Floyd’and will be accompanied by aguitar playing in the background.Some challenges require you to finish the match before it displays, while others will pop the moment you complete them.

If youtackle a challenge and know you’ve completed all the steps but don’t see the Pink Iconpop up, then the Floyd Challengewasn’t activefor you, and youmust move on to one of the others.There are A LOT of Floyd Challenges, so just pick another one, cross your fingers, and hope they work.

What Are The Floyd Challenges?

There are currently37 Floyd Challengesthat werefound and tested by the Mortal Kombat 1 community,which came by way of a series of hints via in-game and through data mining. Playing theTower modeswill occasionally haveFloyd appear and drop the name of a Challenge,serving as a hint of sorts, as vague as they are.

While 37 Floyd Challenges is a lot, youdo not have to complete all of them,as Floyd willtypically appear when you complete around tenof them. Again, you will need tofigure out which ones you currently have access to through trial and error,which will take lots of time and effort on your end. Fortunately, you can find all 37 Floyd Challenges in the table below!

In the Towers of Time mode, earn 20 Points via Challenges.

Clear Chapter 15 of the Story Mode.

Demonic Duo

As Ashrah, select Sareena as your Kameo and have her replenish your entire Super Meter (all three bars) via Jataaka’s Blessing (Down + RB/R1).

Door Buster

In Story Mode, complete the Test Your Might challenge with Baraka during Chapter 5.

Execute a Fatality with five different characters.

Fire & Ice

Execute a combo that deals over 400 Damage as Scorpion with Sub Zero as your Kameo during the Final Round.

Win a match by performing nothing but punches.

Perform 16 Flip Stances (LT/L2) during a match and win.

Frosty!!!

Perform all three Deep Freeze attacks on Sub-Zero with Sub-Zero as your Kameo.

Get Over Here Already

As Scorpion, perform a Fatality or Animality after winning the match.

Get The Horns

As General Shao, select Motaro as your Kameo and have them perform a Fatal Blow by pressing RB/R1 during the Fatal Blow.

Block as soon as the match begins.

Hat Trick

As Kung Lao, select Kung Lao as your Kameo and land every action that involves you and your Kameo’s hat.

Perform 22 Jumps during a match and win.

Win a match as Liu Kang by going Double Flawless.

Ice & Fire

Execute a five-hit combo as Sub Zero with Scorpion as your Kameo.

I’m Down Too

Win a match with The Klassic Brutality. The finishing blow must come from Down + 2. Hold 2 after landing the Uppercut to transition into the Brutality.

Win a match without Jumping a single time.

Ka Ballin'

Land seven Roll Special Moves (Back, Down + B/Circle) with Mileena in a match.

Keep Kalm & Finish

Lose the first round of the match by not pressing any buttons, then win the remaining two.

Win a match by performing nothing but kicks.

Perform 13 Sweeps during a match and win.

Losing Is Winning

Lose a match by not pressing a single button during the entire encounter.

Win a match against Reptile by going Double Flawless.

Perfect Kouple

As Johnny Cage with Sonya as your Kameo, win a match by going Double Flawless.

Quest Keeper

Complete two Daily Challenges from your Kombat Profile at the Main Menu.

Win a match by performing nothing but Front Kicks.

Shaolin Monks

Clear a Klassic Tower as Liu Kang with Kung Lao as your Kameo.

This Is Where You Fall Down

Lose a match to Johnny Cage with less than nine seconds remaining in the final round.

Timed Out

Lose a match due to time running out in both rounds.

Toasty!!!

As Scorpion, select Scorpion as your Kameo, and perform Aura of Fire (Hold RB/R1) on yourself and your opponent three times.

Taunt (Spam Down four times) four times during a match.

Up & Away

Execute five Uppercuts (Down + 2) during a match and nothing else.

Yeet!!!

Perform seven Back Throws without your Kameo during a match and win the encounter.

Execute five Fatalities with one character.

You Suck

Lose a match against General Shao when he has less than 11 percent of his health remaining.

Most of the Floyd Challenges can be completed in Local Versus Mode against Very Easy CPUs to make things much more manageable on your end. Furthermore, after you get the notification for completing one Floyd Challenge, revisit previous ones you tested earlier, as they may be active now. It will be a long and tedious process!

How To Unlock The Field Stage

So, now that you know what theFloyd Challengesare and how you can attempt to complete them, you are closer to unlocking the secret Field stage. However, before you can do that, youmust complete a handful of the challenges outlined above until Floyd appears,forcing you to fight him.

Once you trigger this random encounter, thescreen will shatter,and you will havethree opportunities to defeat Floyd.Yourencounter with him will be with the character you selectedwhen completing the Floyd Challenge that triggered the fight,so keep that in mind. Youcannot changecharacters,so you arestuck with whichever combination you last selectedwhen triggering the encounter.

What Happens If You Lose To Floyd?

As mentioned above, you will havethree chances to defeat Floydbefore your challenges reset.His playstyle and moves arearandom assortment of the other Ninjas in the Mortal Kombat series,so it won’t necessarily be a walk in the park.

Losing to Floydwill give you thechoiceofretrying the encounter or quittingto the main menu. You will havetwo retry attempts,leaving you withthree attempts totalto defeat him before having to tackle more Floyd Challenge for him to appear.

Quiting or losing three timeswill make theprevious challenges you completed unavailable,sofocus on the remaining onesuntil he triggers. If youencounter him three times,all Floyd Challenges will reset,having youstart from square one.So, if you’re able to help it, try getting him to appear with a character you’re comfortable with!

Unlocking The Field Stage And Other Goodies

You probably guessed it by now, but youunlock The Field stage when you defeat Floyd,so make sure you give him all you’ve got if you want to unlock it the first time he appears. He is arelatively challenging encounter,so don’t take him lightly, or you will have to rerun the gauntlet.

Defeating Floyd will make theField a permanent stage that you can select and play on any time you wish,which is worth the time and effort as it isGORGEOUS.Unfortunately,Floyd will not become a playable character,but you can be assured this is not the last we will see or encounter him.
