With many of its twists and turns coming in hot toward the end,Slitterheadramps up its combat with a series of boss encounters that replace the typical mission structure, making them quite a bit more intense and challenging than others by comparison. While they’re still not overly complex, it’s nice seeing some variety in a boss fight after all these hours.
Undying Scorn is a mission in which Alex confronts Lisa. This leads to her transforming into a wild Slitterhead, which allows her to perform all sorts of bizarre attacks that can be hard to defend against. This is an incredible fight with an even better arena, making it one of the best offerings in terms of the many boss encounters in the game!
Undying Scorn Walkthrough In Slitterhead
SinceUndying Scornis anAlex-focused missionin Slitterhead,he must be your primary Rarity,leaving only theCompanion Rarity available to change.We cannotrecommend Edoenough, which likely sounds like a broken record at this point if you followed our other guides, as wecannot get enough of his damage output and Skills.
Julee cannot be used for this mission,so we recommend bringing alongAnita, Tri, or Doni if you don’t like how Edo plays.However, please note thathis Burning Edge Skill will make this encounter substantially more manageable,as itsurges the user’s damage output drastically,allowing them to obliterate Lisa’s health bar without breaking a sweat!
As soon as the encounter begins, useAlex’s Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo,then quicklyswitch over to your Companion Rarity.From here,start attacking Lisa with standard attacksuntil she tosses out one of her own.She will likely teleportacross the arena andlaunch many Blood Orbstoward you.Move in between themto avoid taking damage.
From here, you canactivate Burning Edge if you selected Edotodeliver tons of damage to her in seconds,likelystaggering her,allowing you tofollow up with a bombardment of attacksthat cannot be interrupted. She willalmost always get staggeredafterdropping her health past the first quarteron her health gauge.
When sherecovers from being staggered,she will besurrounded by a green hue that will spread far around her.Coming into contact with this will place thePoison(Level Two) ailment on you, inflicting you with apotent poison that aggressively depletes your healthover time.
She will alsosummon in several lesser Slitterheadsthat youshould focus on eliminating first.Once they’re taken care of, useAlex’s Blood Well and Bloody Blast comboagain and follow it up withEdo’s Burning Edge and Angel Step combo(or whatever your Companion’s equivalent is).
Watch out for her Blood Ray,which has hersend a column of Blood out in a straight linein front of herself, which can deal considerable damage on contact. Simplyrepeat everything above until you drop her health slightly past halfwayto begin the second half of the encounter!
Following a brief cutscene,Lisa will open the second phaseby beginning aDeady Fog Spellthat willCurse all humans in the area, killing them instantlyafter aminute and twenty secondspass. Fortunately,staggering her will cause this Curse to deactivate,making it your top priority.
UseBlood Well to lock her into place,thenfollow up with Burning Edge and unleash a barrage of attacks onto the body dangling from her back.Dealing enough damage to this spot willstagger her quickly and will carve large chunks of her health away.If you don’t get her the first time,be patient and do it again to have her become staggeredfor sure on the rebound attempt.
You can alsorapidly switch to whoever is behind her and get free hits on her back,which will work well when you’re waiting for Blood Well to regenerate. After staggering her, use anotherBlood Well and Bloody Blast combo,thenfinish her off with your Companion Rarityto make quick work of her second phase. Simple. Right?
Thebiggest threat in this phase is the Curse Timer,so shedoesn’t gain any new movesbut becomesslightly more aggressive.So follow the same strategy from earlier to evade her attacks, thenfocus on her back when ableto destroy her in a flash!
Undying Scorn Rewards
Defeating Lisa - Mimic Octopus Slitterhead for the first time in theUndying Scornmission will give you24 Skill Tokensto spend on any upgrade you feel deserves it. Again,these are shared,so spending them on one Rarity will make them unavailable for the others.
New ‘Talk’ encounters will also become availablewhen defeating her, so focus on exhausting all of them toget more missionsto come online to get closer to the finish line of Slitterhead!
