Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghanais here to usher in the new year, bringing one of the best entries in the series to modern consoles with some much-needed quality-of-life updates. While the game will still pose quite a challenge, especially if you’re a newcomer, it is still a solid experience from beginning to end that we feel is worth having.
And what better way to break in the game’s systems and mechanics than completing the first area that has everything from boss encounters to exploration to even secrets to discover, all leading to excellent rewards that will set you up nicely for the future when you tackle your first dungeon!
How To Complete Tigray Quarry In Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana
Uponagreeing to help find the Mayorafter you get acquainted with the citizens of Redmont Town, you will begiven a map and some Raval Ore,allowing you to upgrade your starting equipment before setting off to Tigray Quarry. Afterchoosing which piece of equipment you want to upgrade(we recommend theSword), you can immediately head out.
TheTigray Quarry will be a straight shot from Redmont Town,so just run straight ahead, killing the many Guffs and Riez' along the way until you reach the front entrance.Activate the Travel Monumentnearby, thenspeak with Paulbefore heading inside.
Navigating The Tigray Quarry In Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana
Once you’reinside the Tigray Quarry,begin making your way through it,following the only pathway forward.Here, you will encounterseveral Picmoles,these bee-like enemies thatwon’t pose too much of a threat.After cutting them down,continue pushing forward until you reach a large vertical shaftwith a series of stairs leading to the bottom.
As youbegin navigating down the winding staircasesthat lead down the long vertical shaft of the Tigray Quarry, you will run into acouple of new enemies.These are theGulms(Spiders) andRadels(Goblins), whichshouldn’t be too challengingto deal with. It is the first area, after all.
Werecommend defeating everything you seehere, as you willobtain a pretty hefty amount of EXPby doing so, allowing you tolevel up pretty fast, increasing some of Adol’s base Stats.Once you’refinally at the bottomof the shaft, youcan either head left or right.
Head to the left first,as there will be aTravel Monumenthere, allowing you toSave your progress,just in case you die before having to come here a bit later. Once youactivate the Travel Monumentand Save,head back to the bottom of the shaft and head right,as you cannot do anything more here at the moment.
Heading Deeper Into The Tigray Quarry In Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana
With your progress saved, you may nowhead to the area to the right of the large vertical shaft,having you enter asizable room with many enemiesand sets of stairs within it. Werecommend defeating everything in this room,especially thegroup of Radels near the south-most portionof the screen, as you will getshowered with EXP.
Furthermore, there isalso a Chest in this room,so be sure to open it up after defeating all the enemies to receivex5 Raval Ore,which will surely come in handy once you get out of the Tigray Quarry. But, for now, you must pocket it and continue forward. So,head up the staircase and into the next sectionof the Quarry.
Pressing Further Into The Tigray Quarry In Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana
Movingup the stairswill lead toanother fork in your travels,but theleft path leads to a Pendant that you cannot obtain just yet,so you must come back to that a bit later on in the story.For now, just head to the rightto encounter aRadeland anew enemy type,theKayron,a corrupted bat that can besomewhat annoying to deal with,mainly because it’s hard to hit when it’s flying.
Dispatch the enemiesandcontinue heading to the rightto find astaircase that leads downward.However, before taking them down,run past them to find even more Kayrons and a potat the end of the walkway. Defeat the Kayrons andsmash open the pot to get a nice chunk of Gold.From here,head down the stairsand further into the Quarry.

Fighting offeven more Kayrons and Radelsalong the way, you willeventually reach a Miner named Deweystanding in front of another staircase within the Tigray Quarry.Speak to Deweyto learn about apowerful enemy deep within the Quarrythatcannot be hurt by physical attacks.
Dewey will explain that theremay be something that can deal with them in the Storehouseof the Tigray Quarry and will give you theStorehouse Key,having you go and obtain it. So, before you can make any more progress in the Quarry to find the Mayor, you must first acquire this unique item.
Obtaining The Ignis Bracelet In Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
Since you now have theStorehouse Key,you must nowopen the locked Storehouse doorwithin the Tigray Quarry. The problem? Well, it’s the locked door that wasbeside the Travel Monument to the left of the large vertical shaftfrom earlier. And, since youcannot Fast Travelquite yet, you will have tohoof it the entire way backthere.
While it issort of a nuisanceto have to travel the entire way back there, this is theperfect opportunity to slay everything on your way backsince enemies respawn when you leave and re-enter the same room. We strongly recommend killing everything again, as you willessentially be power-leveling Adol,making him more than ready for the upcoming encounters.
How To Obtain The Ignis Bracelet In Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana
Cracking open theStorehouselock -after Saving at the Travel Monument- and entering will reveal asizable and empty roomwith anexit to the south.Approach the exit to beinterrupted by a SorcerernamedDularn,who willattempt to cut your adventure short,triggering the game’sfirst boss encounter.
Thisfight isn’t overly challenging,but it isa noticeable step up from the groups of standard enemiesyou’ve been mindlessly hacking through until now. Nonetheless, you willhave to defeat him in order to get the unique item and progress furtherinto the Tigray Quarry!
Obtain The Ignis Bracelet In Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana
Besting Dularn will have him teleport outof the Tigray Quarry,leaving Adol alonefor now. From here, you can nowcontinue through the Storehouse,which will bring you to asmall room with a lone Red Chestin the center. Crack open this Chest to obtain theIgnis Bracelet,allowing you touse Mana to hurl Fireballsat your enemies. Cool!
Now, for the bad news: Youmust run all the way back to Deweyto progress further into the Quarry. So,exit the Storehouse, Save your progress at the Travel Monument, and begin making your way backthrough all the rooms and enemies.
Like last time,we strongly recommend you kill everything on your way backthrough, as that’s justfree and easy EXP that will be extremely useful a bit lateron in this area. It may be a bit tedious, but it is absolutely worth the time and effort it takes!
The Final Stretch Of The Tigray Quarry In Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana
Hoofing it all the way back to Deweywill finally allow you togo down the stairsbeside him, getting you further into the Tigray Quarry. As soon as you’re at thebase of the stairs, head to the left of it to find a potand smash it open to receive anice amount of Goldthat will be useful for upgrades.
On your way to the bottom of the room, you willencounter the same enemies from earlier,so deal with them the same way you’ve been until youreach the ground level.Once here, you will see agroup of Radels and a Kayrondefeat them and begin topush forward to suddenly be ambushed by a few Mozuks.
Mozuks are the enemies Dewey mentioned earlierand arebeetles with extremely strong shellsthat physical attacks cannot penetrate. Now you canutilize your new Ignis Bracelet,asFire is very effective against themand can dispatch them in a matter of seconds. After they’re taken care of, proceed to the right and into the next area.
Almost There…
Push into the next areato find a bridge withmore Mozuks and Radelson it, andutilize your Ignis Braceletto make quick work of them. From here,continue following the path forwarduntil you come across asizable gapin front of a waterfall.Leap across the gap and onto the other sideand continue navigating down to the base level.
More Mozuks and some Kayronswill await you here;deal with them how you’ve been,and thenhead to the right and into the next area.While you’re almost there, thenext room is crucial, so don’t just blaze through it,as there’s an item in it that will help you tremendously!
How To Obtain The Ruby In The Tigray Quarry
Heading into the next room will revealseveral Mozuks and Kayronsthat you mustdeal with how you’ve beenpreviously. After taking care of all the enemies in this room,do not proceed into the next area just yet,as there is avaluable item within this roomthat will make your life substantially easier if you snag it.
Obtaining The Ruby In The Tigray Quarry
To obtain this item, head to theupper left-hand cornerof the room to find anelevated pathwaythat leads to a section above.Hop up the large rocks and follow the pathuntil you find anunlit torchagainst the wall. At thebottom right is an almost translucent Red Chestyou cannot interact with.
Light the torchwith yourIgnis Bracelettomake the Red Chest solid,enabling you tocrack it opento obtain aRuby.A Ruby is aGemstone that upgrades the Ignis Braceletspecifically, allowing Adol tocharge it up before firing it,allowing him tocreate a bigger Fireball that deals substantially more damage.
Not only that butacquiring Rubies will also grant Adol faster Mana Regeneration and increase the damage outputof the Ignis Bracelet. This is acrucial item to grab,as your next encounter is going to be your first true test, so ensure you grab it before going any further!
Obtaining The Moonstar Statue In Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
Having theRuby in your possessionmeans you’regood to go into the next area,so take thelarge staircase downinto the depths of the Tigray Quarry. As you approach the bottom, you will see aTravel Monument,soactivate it and Save your progressso you don’t have to repeat everything you’ve just done if you die.
Aninjured man will be standing to the right of the large opening;approach him to discoverit’s the Mayor, Edgar,who will thank you for traveling all this way to save him. He willmention a strange aura coming from the roombeside him, which isyour cue to go check it out.But, before doing that,head to the right of Edgar to find a potand smash it open to get some moreGold!
How To Obtain The Moonstar Statue In Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
Save once more before heading into the room,as once you do, you will be met withEllefale, the Azure Queen of Death,who will be yourfirst formidable opponentin Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana.Unlike Dularn, Ellefale will put up a fight,which can be tricky to deal with at first.
Fortunately, like with Dularn,her moves aren’t overly complexand can beavoided easilyonce you know what to look for andhow tocounter them to deal maximum damageto her, allowing you to take her down for good andobtain the Moonstar Statue.Again, this will be your first proper challenge of the game, so don’t feel too bad if you’re struggling here!
Back In Redmont Town, Safe And Sound
Ending Ellefale’s reign of terror and securing the Moonstar Statuewill have Adolexit her lairto discoverEdgar conversing with someone.Let this conversation play out to getsome shocking informationon who that young man is and his aspirations,eventually having Adol and Edgar head back to Redmont Town.
