If you’ve been looking for another way to prove your skill inPokemon TCG Pocket, you’ll be glad to have an opportunity for another PVP emblem to display on your profile. The SP Emblem Event is back, and it’s just as rewarding (and frustrating) as the last time!
Unlike the last emblem event, SP events require you to hit a winning streak, rather than just rack up a certain number of wins. In a best-of-one format with coin flips determining how some of the most powerful decks work, this can be frustrating, but we’re here to guide you!
What Is The Mythical Island SP Emblem Event?
The Mythical Island SP Emblem Event is a PVP event that runs for one week, from January 20 until Jul 15, 2025. During this event you canearn new emblems for your profile, as well asShinedustandPack Hourglasses.
Unlike Pokemon GO, Pokemon TCG Pocket events aren’t scheduled for your local time. They start and end at midnight Central Time, so depending on your location it may start or end a few hours outside the listed dates.
This event introduces four new emblems that you may display on your profile, which you canearn by winning consecutive PVP battlesin Event Matches.
Since this event requires winning streaks, the missions to earn emblems reset when you lose. So while some players will be able to get the emblem in just five matches, others will be frustrated by losing their fourth or fifth match and have to start over.
If you aren’t interested in emblems but do want some Pack Hourglasses and Shinedust, you can earn both through missions that don’t require you to compete in the Event Matches.

There arefour new emblems available, each requiring a longer winning streak than the previous one to earn.

Mythical Island SP Emblem Event Tips
With so much of the game focused on flipping coins, trying to hit a streak leaves a lot up to chance. Even if you’re playing the best deck in the world, you’ll be out of luck if the Stage 1 Pokemon you need is on the bottom of your deck.
you’re able to weigh the odds in your favor if youpay attention to the current meta. Popular decks likePikachu exandCharizard exare still around, but they’re a little less common with the rise ofGyarados exandCelebi ex. Being able to effectively counter these popular decks is key.
In the eight games we needed to earn the gold emblem, we encountered two Celebi ex decks, two Pikachu ex variants, and one each of Charizard ex and Gyarados ex. These four decks made upthree-quarters of all decks we encountered.
Decks that can consistently win against these big meta decks have a higher chance of reaching a five-win streak, soconsider building something with an advantage against one or more. TheArcanine exarchetype, for example, has type advantage against Celebi ex and a better-than-even win rate against Pikachu ex, whilesome data shows that Geninja and Aerodactyl ex are top deck components.
Also, consider the timing for your battles: we’ve found the most success in PVP events at the very beginning, when players are testing new, off-meta decks, and near the end, when many of the more skilled players have already finished the event and moved on.
Waiting until the end to farm against players who haven’t managed to get a five-win streak is risky, because it leaves less room to start over if you break your streak.
Finally, try not to get frustrated. If you let a loss get under your skin, you’re more likely to make play mistakes like attaching Energy to the wrong Pokemon or using an X-Speed or Leaf when you didn’t intend to retreat.
If you’re the type of player to get tilted, watch yourself more closely and if you’re getting frustratedtake a few minutes to do something elseand relax. Then come back and knock ‘em dead!
