Pokemon Gois celebrating the 2025 Lunar New Year, hosting their annualLunar New Year Eventagain this year. This year’s Lunar New Year Event will be packed with tons of content for all players, bringing both new and returning features and bonuses to this year’s event.

This will only be a five-day event, taking place fromWednesday, July 23, 2025, at 10am local time to Sunday, July 17, 2025, at 8pm local time. Below we have included all details regarding the 2025 Lunar New Year Event; read on to learn everything you need to know to make the most of it.

Event Bonuses

There will betwo bonuses available to all playersduring the 2025 Lunar New Year Event, both having to do withLucky Pokemon and Lucky Friends. These two bonuses include:

Wild Encounter Pokemon

During this event, there will beseven different Pokemon that will appear in the wild more frequently. Make sure to play during this event for a chance to encounter and catch the following event-themed Pokemon:

Ekans encountered during this event will haveincreased odds of being Shiny.

Event 2 Km Eggs

2 km Eggsthat are obtained during the days of the 2025 Lunar New Year Event will hatch specific event-themed Pokemon, replacing those that typically hatch from this type of Egg. Make sure to collect and hatch these Eggs while you can, giving you a chance to acquire one of the following Pokemon:

Nosepass hatched from these Eggs will haveincreased odds of being Shiny.

Event Research

Event Field Research Tasks

During this event, all players will receive aDaily Field Research Task. Completing this Field Research Task willreward you withPokeCoins, a resource that is needed to purchase different items from the in-game shop.

Additionally, you will be able to obtainadditional Event Field Research Tasksfromspinning different PokeStopsduring this event. Completing these Field Research Tasks will reward you withStardust and event-themed Pokemon encounters.
