Slitterheadhas many hectic and intense moments, especially when it comes to its stories and the contrast between the humans and the Slitterheads, making for many white-knuckled moments throughout your journey. And that experience is only dialed up to eleven once Alex gets involved.
Alex is the ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ guy in the game. He just wants to see Slitterheads die at all costs, even if it puts his own life in danger. And this shines through during the Insidious Sucker mission, having him fight through waves and waves of them until he gets what he wants.
Starting Insidious Sucker In Slitterhead
For this mission,Alex will be the permanent Rarityas your primary slot, leaving you only with theCompanionto choose. EitherEdo or Juleewill be great here. For us,we stuck with Juleeas herRevive All Skill is incredibly potentand can keep everyone alive during hectic and intense moments.
Edo’s benefit will be his Burning Edge Skill,which will provide asubstantial damage boost to Alex,making him even more deadly than before. Again,both are excellent picks, and you can’t really go wrong with either oneof them for this mission!
As soon as the mission begins,head right and follow the Slitterhead’s aurainto the back alley until you run into awoman in a polka-dotted top.Get next to her andSplatter Bloodonto her, revealingshe’s actually a Slitterheadin disguise, causing it toflee from the scene.Beginchasing after it until it summons a group of lesser Slitterheadsin front of you, impeding your progress.
Defeat The Waves Of Slitterheads
This is wherethings get kicked up a notch,even if the enemies are only the lesser versions of the Slitterheads.Therewill be many of them, and there will be three waves total,so be prepared for some carnage and destruction. Fortunately, Alex’sBlood Well and Bloody Blast combo will work perfectlyagainst them, but you may need additional help.
UseBlood Well to round them up, charge up your Bloody Blast, and obliterate their health,thenswitch to Julee and have her begin using her Sonic Claws and other Skillsto continue carving them up. From here, youcan use her Revive All Skillto top off Alexor switch to him and hold R1/RB to absorb Bloodand heal that way.
Waves one and two won’t be too bad,but thethird one will be the true test,as there will befour lesser Slitterheadstotal, which can get pretty rough fast. Again, useBlood Well and Bloody Blastto shave off as much of their health as possible, thenswitch the Julee to finish themoff!
Continue Chasing The Slitterhead
Next, you will have torelocate the Slitterhead,following its aura back to themain street where the markets are.The Slitterhead will bedisguised as a lady in a white shirt with red dots.Locate them and putSplatter Blood on themto reveal they’re the Slitterhead,causing them to run awayagain.
Chase them through the streets, landing hits on themwhenever you can. They willperiodically stop,allowing you to use yourBlood Well to pull them into it,letting youcharge up your Bloody Blast to deal massive amounts of damage.After dealing enough damage,they will flee back to the main street.
Defeat Slitterheads
After chasing the Slitterhead back into the main streets, it willsummon more lesser Slitterheads,having you deal with them. Thisshouldn’t be too challengingas therearen’t manyof them, so useJulee’s Blood Claws and Alex’s Blood Well and Bloody Blast comboto eliminate them swiftly.
TheSlitterhead from earlier will returnand transform into aLesser Octopus Slitterhead,forcing you to deal with it. This encounter is also surprisingly easy,as theSlitterhead won’t do too many attacks,allowing you totelegraph its moves.UsingBlood Well and Bloody Blastwill destroy its health, allowingJulee to use her Skillsto finish it off.
Don’t forget toswitch to nearby civilians if you’re low on healthto give yourRarities time to get their Skillsback orenough space to properly heal.If this encounter isgiving you issues, try sticking with Julee until you get its health down most of the way,then useAlex and his Blood Well and Bloody Blast comboto finish it off!
Upon defeating the Lesser Octopus Slitterhead, aSlitterhead in a suit will beckon you to the rooftop,forcing you to chase after it. Use yourBlood Jump to reach the green neon sign, possess the random civilianon the roof, and thenhead toward the lone womanat the opposite end.
Once you’re here, you will getambushed by two Slitterheads,but this encounter won’t be too challenging, especially with Alex. Use hisBlood Well and Bloody Blast comboto take them down past half-health, thenswitch to a random civilian,useWar Cry,andlure the Slitterheadsover to them.
Switch back to Alexandhold R1/RB to absorb Blood and replenish his health.From here,perform one more Blood Well and Bloody Blast comboto eliminate both of the Slitterheads simultaneously, triggering another brief cutscene.
Defeat The Zebra Octopus Slitterhead
Finally, you will get a showdown against theZebra Octopus Slitterhead,which willplay out like most of the other Octopus Slitterhead encountersyou’ve experienced before. This time, however, werecommend using Julee first,as herheavy attacks and Sonic Clawscanstagger itearly on.
Julee can deal lots of damageto this thing early on,allowing Alex to show up and perform his Blood Well and Bloody Blast combofor even more damage, making this encounter go by with a snap of a finger. Like always, if you arelow on health, Julee’s Revive All Skill will save the day.
Additionally, youcan parry and guard most of this Slitterhead’s attacks,pushing the odds even more in your favor. It hasone attack where it glows red,meaning youcannot guard or parry it,so get ready toevade that attackwhen it deploys it. Then, justrinse and repeat your strategyuntil it dies!
Insidious Sucker Rewards
Defeating the Zebra Octopus Slitterhead andclearing Insidious Sucker for the first timewill provide you with an abundance of24 Skill Tokens.Keep in mind, however,they are sharedand can only be used once, sochoose who gets the upgrades wisely.
You know it’s coming; it’s time to nudge you tolisten to all ‘Talk’ dialogues immediately after finishing this mission,as it willunlock more missionsfor you to tackle or might evenprovide more hints that will ultimately lead to new Rarity.Do not sleep on this, as it is crucial to the game!
