Once you reach Skyhold inDragon Age: Inquisition, you’ll finally have your own little space to call home for the Inquisition. You’ll be pleased to know that you can customize Skyhold to some degree, changing up the general decor, as well as specific furnishing items.
Whether you want to be a loud and proud Dalish elf with your banners, or you want an Orlesian bed, you can make it happen. Here’s everything you need to know about how to unlock customisation for Skyhold, where to change the decor, and how to unlock new decor items.
How To Unlock Customisation For Skyhold
As soon as you have access to Skyhold, you’ll unlock the’Inquisition Trappings' quest. To complete the quest, you simply need tohead to the Undercroft(through the door to the right of the Skyhold throne as you face it) andcustomise Skyholdvia the table closest to the waterfall.
You can then access this table anytime you wish to change Skyhold’s decorations and furnishings.

Please note that some aspects of Skyhold cannot be customised until you have progressed enough to have repaired certain areas.
Complete Decoration List And How To Unlock Each
We’ve compiled together a complete list of every furnishing item you may collect.
For DLC and other items available from optional content or previous title progression, these can be obtained by interacting with the Special Shipments chest in the Skyhold Undercroft.
Dalish
Emerald Graves- In a barrel in awooden building near Argon’s Lodge.
Dwarven
This is the only banner that can be found in two separate locations and for some reason, can actually be collected twice, even if you already picked one up.
Ferelden
Hinterlands- In a chest in theGrand Forest Villa(south of the Forest Camp).
Crestwood- In a chestwithin the Fisherman’s hutjustsouth of an Astrarium in the East Hills.
Orlais
Emerald Graves- Found in a safe inthe Vault of Villa Maurelrelated to the ‘Safe Keeping’ quest.
Tevinter Imperium
Hissing Wastes- In a chest in an enemy camp beside a big spikey rockeast of the Oasis landmark.
Grey Warden
Forbidden Oasis- Found in a barrel on a cliff facenear the Envers Mining Camp.
Two additional banners are available from different DLC packs: Frostback Basin Banner (Spoils of the Avvar DLC) and the Par Vollen Banner (Spoils of the Qunari DLC).
Oralis III
Three additional beds are available from different DLC packs: Avvar Bed (Jaws of Hakkon DLC), Frostback Basin Bed (Spoils of the Avvar DLC), and the Par Vollen Bed (Spoils of the Qunari DLC).
Chasind
Qunari
Four additional styles of Drapery are available from different optional content: Avvar Drapery (Jaws of Hakkon DLC), Frostback Basin Drapery (Spoils of the Avvar DLC), Par Vollen Drapery (Spoils of the Qunari DLC), and the Dragon Drapey can be contained from the Dragon Age: Inquisition Multiplayer.
Three additional Heraldry are available from different DLC packs: Avvar Heraldry (Jaws of Hakkon DLC), Frostback Basin Heraldry (Spoils of the Avvar DLC), and the Par Vollen Heraldry (Spoils of the Qunari DLC).
How To Unlock
Basic
Automaticallyobtained after completing either ‘Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts’, or ‘Here Lies the Abyss’.
Free Marches
Four additional styles of Decor are available from different optional content: Avvar Decor (Jaws of Hakkon DLC), Frostback Basin Decor (Spoils of the Avvar DLC), Par Vollen Decor (Spoils of the Qunari DLC), and the Dragon Decor can be contained from the Dragon Age: Inquisition Multiplayer.
Thrones
For Throne Accessories, your agents have a chance of bringing these back from specific War Table Operations. We’ve listed each operation below, but it’s worth nothing that there are two accessories per throne.
Fallow Mire Resources (War Table Operation)
Enchanter’s Seat
Obtained by completing Vivienne’s personal quest ‘Bring me the Heart of Snow White’.
Qunari Bench
Obtained by completing Iron Bull’s personal quest ‘Demands of the Qun’.
Purchasable from thefurnishing vendor in Val Royeaux.
Three additional Windows are available from different optional content: Avvar Glass (Jaws of Hakkon DLC), Frostback Basin Glass (Spoils of the Avvar DLC), and the Boon of the Serault Flasswork (Dragon Age Keep - after completing The Last Court).
Where Is The Furnishing Merchant In Val Royeaux?
The NPC merchant that sells Skyhold furnishings can be found in thelower part of the main level of the Val Royeaux map, on the eastern side, just opposite the café. The items for sale will belisted under the ‘Other’ tab.
