Zenless Zone Zerointroduced a new character called Astra Yao, a singer who acts as a Support unit on the battlefield. With her powerful off-field buffs for your whole team and a signature weapon accompanying her, you must build her with that approach in mind.
Astra Yao’s Strength comes in the form of Idyllic Cadenza, a powerful state triggered by her Special Attack where she provides support and a huge Attack Buff off the field while you use your Main DPS units to unleash hell. Here we’ll tell you all about it.
Best Astra Yao W-Engines
The best W-Engines for Astra Yao are the ones that can accentuate her supportive powers. WhileElegant Vanity (her signature weapon) is easily the best possible option thanks to the Damage buff to all the Squad members and the Energy recycling it provides,two other great options are Bashful Demon and Kaboom The Cannon.
The first one, the signature weapon for Soukaku, will provide a great increase in the squad’s Attack, even though the Ice Damage increase will do nothing for us. The latter one will provide a similar bonus, but the way those buffs stacks make this option a little bit more inconvenient.
Best Astra Yao Drive Disks
For the Drive Disks, there’s only one great option, and that’sAstral Voice. The Damage buff it provides on top of that extra 10% on Astra’s Attack will work amazingly for her, and if you feel compelled to, you can also throwtwo pieces of Swing Jazzfor some extra Energy Regen.
You might wonder, “If this is a Support Unit, why the focus on Attack?”. During the Idyllic Cadenza state (triggered by her Special Attack), bothshe and the character that comes next into battle will get a 35 percent Attack buff based on Astra’s initial Attack stat, so the more Attack she has, the bigger the buff.
Astra Yao Skill Priority
Astra Yao’s skills should always be upgraded with this priority order in mind:Special Attack > Chain Attack > Assist > Basic Attack > Dodge.Sinceher Special Attack is what provides the best buff she has to offer, we need to focus on that, and then on her Chain Attack and Assist, as those two skills are pivotal for her kit.

Premium Team
The best possible on the premium side takes advantage of the previous two S-Rank units, Miyabi and Yanagi.
