One of the coolest bosses that came with theWuthering Waves2.0 update is the Sentry Construct, a sleek winged mech that’s as fast as it is deadly. If you’re not careful, it will kill your entire party in an even shorter timeframe, but you’ll want to farm the fight a lot for its Echo and Ascension materials.
Beating the Sentry Construct is, thankfully, fairly straightforward, or, at least, getting to its second phase is. Once the fight enters its final form, things get wacky.
All Sentry Construct Attacks
The Sentry Construct has a healthy move list, split relatively evenly between ground and aerial attacks. Like many of the bosses in Rinacita,it has a few attacks that have a significant delay to punish dodge spam. Timing is thus key to beating the boss comfortably, but knowing what’s coming is also helpful.
Claw Swipe into Drill

The Construct swipes in front of itself with both claws before turning its right claw into a drill and jamming it into the ground, which, after a short time, explodes.
You can outspace the first two swipesby backing up or dodging them. The same is true for the drill and explosion, though dodging at the right time is more consistent.
Slam into Ice Explosion
After slamming its hand into the ground, the Construct creates a second blast of ice crystals from where its hand hit.
Given the longer recovery time,you can quickly get behind the Constructif you see the attack coming, avoiding the blasts for free damage.
Ice Wing Shield
The Construct wraps its wings around itself as a shield to reduce its stagger buildup. It gains damage resistance during this move as well.
A grapple point appears above its headfor you to use to air attack the wings open.
Ice Sword Beams
The Consturct wraps its right arm across its body and generates a large energy sword, sending six energy waves in an arc.
Strafe around the Construct as the attack winds upto avoid all damage and get free damage.
Mega Laser
Raising both arms above its head, the Construct creates a massive energy beam that travels from left to right. It then lifts the beam and slams it down on your head.
Proximity is this attack’s weakness,as the boss has trouble controlling the beam. The closer you are, the easier it is to strafe around the boss and deal damage as the attack continues.
Wing Slash
The Construct quickly turns around and slashes the ground with one of its bladed wings.
Lunging Wing Stab
If the Construct is far away, it can pull back its right arm and lunge at you before stabbing with its claws and wings.
This move has a lot of forward momentum but not much tracking, so youcantry to avoid it by moving side to side, buta dodge is much safer.
Ice Stab into Double Spin

The Construct uses a quicker stab and then uses its wing blades to perform a pair of spinning attacks as a follow-up.
The parry window here is just before the faster stab attack lands. You’ll need to dodge the spin if you don’t parry it.
Quick Wing Stab
The Construct folds its wing blades and does a quick forward stab with a fast parry window.
Dodge to either sideif you don’t feel comfortable hitting the parry window.
Star Shower
After taking to the air, the Constructs summons several bright stars that then home in on you.
There are enough projectiles with good enough tracking that strafing them all is inadvisable, butif you dodge the first volley, you should be able to sprint away from the stragglers.
Multi-Charge
The Construct lowers its head and charges at you at least twice, up to four or five times, depending on how close you are at the end of the charge.
If you’re fast, youcouldtry to outstrafe the attack, butdodging as the charge would otherwise land is a saferbet because the boss’s hitbox extends to its wings on either side.
Double Wing Slashes
After pulling its wing blades around itself, the Construct rushes you and slashes across itself. It will then do a spinning slash where its charge ends.
One of the few parryable attacks in the Construct’s arsenal, hitting it just as the slash is about to land will negate the attack and do large stagger damage.you’re able to easily dodge the slashes, as well.
Wing Stab, Energy Beams, and Explosion
This attack combines the wing stab, energy beam slash, and slam explosion from the first phase.
Avoiding each portion of the attack is the same as phase one,but they come in quick succession, so be mindful of their speed.
Double Spinning Wing Slash and Explosion
This combo starts with the spinning wing slash from phase one and transitions into a large, faster slash with both sets of wings. It is followed by a drill slam and explosion.
You caneither dodge each attack in sequence or try to get out of the way.Each strike has a bit of forward momentum, so you’ll need tokeeprunning if you want to escape their radius.
Ice Waves and Slam
The Construct prostrates itself to drive both of its hands into the arena floor, then sends out a massive line of ice spikes before swiping with its left hand, ending with an explosion that sends out another line of ice.
Strafing and dodging consistently to your leftis probably the safest way to avoid this attack, as is staying close to the boss.
Tips For Beating The Sentry Construct
By far the best tip for fighting the Sentry Constuct is tostick close to it at all times. Yes, you’ll be putting yourself in a much more vulnerable position, but you can counter-strafe many of its attacks, especially the mega beam and some slashes.
Staying close to the boss also makes it less likely to use its longer-range attacks, removing some of its more threatening moves altogether.
Take advantage of the Construct’s recover periods, especially after its laser and heavy slam attacks. If you’re staying close and managed to dodge the attacks themselves, you’ll have as much as five seconds of free damage time.
Most importantly,do not try to spam dodge your way to victory. The Sentry Construct is designed to punish sloppy play more than some other bosses in the game, and while its individual attacks might not inflict massive damage, this boss loves its combos, and you can end up on the bad side of one of them all too easily.
Best Characters To Beat Sentry Construct
As aGlacio boss, the Sentry Construct is highly resistant to that damage type, meaning you’re better off using characters with other elements.
Jinhsi
Main DPS
There are few Spectro-resistant enemies in Wuthering Waves, meaningJinhsi retains her crown as one of the top DPS characters in the gameagainst almost any boss you may imagine, and the Sentry Construct is no different.
Changli
As a premier Fusion-damage DPS,Changli can melt boss health and stamina bars with equal ease, and while she’s a bit on the technical side, if you know what you’re doing, it’s pretty easy to get fantastic damage out of her kit.
Camellya
One of Camellya’s biggest selling points, besides her wild damage, ishow easy she makes getting parries with her spin-to-win attack. True, the Sentry Construct doesn’t have a ton of parryable attacks, but you’ll have no trouble hitting the ones it does have.
Havoc Rover
Even if you don’t have any of the limited five-star characters,Havoc Rover is a beast, especially considering you can get her to S5 with the RInacita content. Her damage is respectable, she’s easy to use and build, and can deal with any boss attack with ease.
Mortefi
Sub-DPS
Providing supplemental Fusion damage, plusa buff to Heavy attacks, is Mortefi’s specialty, and his personal output is solid as well.
Yinlin
For probably the best supplemental Electro damage this side of Zhezhi paired with Carlotta or Jinhsi,Yinlin is also relatively easy to use and can provide tons of comfort to any team she’s in.
Storekeeper
Support
To say Shorekeeper’s buffs are impressive almost does a disservice to the word, and she’s a top-tier healer on top of them.There is no team she can’t immediately elevate.
Verina
Verina withstood the coming of Shorekeeper, remaining a top-tier pick who’s also infinitely more accessible to new playerswhile offering on-par (or nearly so) bonuses as the limited five-star.
Rewards For Beating The Sentry Construct
You’ll get the standard set of rewards for beating the Sentry Construct, the best of which is its Echo. The Echo provides a bonus to Glacio and Resonant Skill damage just for having it equipped, making it the go-to choice for Carlotta.
