The Lord of Eroded Primal Fire Boss ends the final chapter of Natlan inGenshin Impactwith a bang, but you need to beat this weekly boss several times to get the talent level-up materials. It’s one of the most challenging bosses in the game, with a complicated move set, which you can only tackle if you are prepared enough.
Without using Nightsoul characters, this battle will become much harder, so you’ll need to send your strongest DPS characters from Natlan to stand a chance against this beast. The boss’s moves can be tough to predict, but they become easily avoidable if you observe its movements carefully.
How To Find The Lord Of Eroded Primal Fire
To get access to the boss battle,complete Act V of Chapter 5 “Incandescent Ode of Resurrection"of the Archon Quest. You will face the boss for the first time during the quest. However, the fight is automated and plays differently to the weekly boss.
To defeat the boss in the Archon quest, you need todestroy pillars with Mavuika first and then launch a powerful attack at the shadow of the dragonusing the Traveller.
After completing the quest, thetrounce domain “Stone Stele Records"will automatically unlock to thewest of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. you’re able to start the battle by interacting with the monument of Natlan heroes.
Recommended Characters To Use
Characters that can dealNightsoul-aligned damagewill help you defeat this particular boss. Your Nightsoul characters candeplete the shield bar below its health quickly. You also need them todestroy the pillars that the boss will summonon the field.
Ideally, we recommend you make a team that onlyincludes characters fromNatlan, as they use Nightsoul mechanism efficiently.
Mavuika, Chasca, Mualani or Kinich should be yourmain damage dealers. You can also useXilonen to debuff an opponentif you are using DPS characters who rely on elemental damage.
If you don’t own many Nightsoul characters, you should bring out your best DPS characters that deal a lot of damage to cover for it. Some recommendations are Arlecchino, Xiao, and Navia.
The boss has a complex attack pattern, and you might be unable to dodge attacks easily, so we recommendbringing a shielder to your team. The best choice here isCitlali since she can also deal Nightsoul damageand works well with your elemental characters.
Zhongli or Noelle can be your alternative choicefor a shielder if you don’t own Citlali.
If you have trouble fighting close-range, you should use strong ranged characters for damage such asGanyu, Neuvillete, andYanfei. Ideally, we also recommend bringing in a healer, eitherSangonomiya Kokomi,Barbara, or Baizhu.

The Lord of Eroded Primal Fire is a fearsome boss whose attacks are often harder to read. It uses acombination of both short and long-range attacks, and you need to read his movements to guess what he is about to throw your way.
The boss ishighly agile, so you need to act fastto remain unscathed.
How To Avoid
Chasing Dark Orbs
Gosoythoth will shoot four orbs of darkness your way which follow your character.
Quicklydash towards the side and get closer to the boss. You can recognize this attack when the boss summons the orbs around itself.
Dark Rain
Gosoythoth will make some dark energy rain onto the ground, you will also find some rocks mixed in.
You can run around the field andstick to small empty gapsto receive as few hits possible.
Ground Slice
Gosoythoth will raise his filame sword up and slice the ground with it making the area shorter. It also damages everything nearby.
Get as far away as you’re able to from this attack to remain unscathed.
Flame Sword Smash
Gosoythoth will smash his fire sword on the ground without cutting it. This willburn a large portion of the field.
When you see Gosoythoth raising his flame sword, eitherget on one edge of the field away from it or quickly run back. Your focus should be on getting away from the center of the attack.
Forward Flame Sword Slice
Using the fire sword, Gosoythoth will do a slice attack in the forward direction. It will sometimesfollow it up with another slice.
When you see Gosoythoth raising the sword to one of its shoulders, eitherget closer to the boss or dash at the sidesto avoid the attack.
Do not let your guard down after evading the first slice.
Flame Waves
Gosoythoth will insert the flame sword into the ground, which will thenemit waves of fire attacksthat cover a wide area.
The attack is quick, so you need to brace for it as soon as you see Gosoythoth raising the sword high-up to dig it into the ground. Jump over the waves when they are about to hit you.
Double Sword Smash + Laser
Gosoythoth brings out his dark sword andsmashes it on the ground alongside the flame sword. This will befollowed by a long-range laser attack.
You can recognize this attack when the boss makes across-shape with his swords before smashing them. Prepare tododge the laser attack by running to one edge of the field.
Forward Flame Slice + Dark Sword Smash+ Cross Slash
The boss will first do aslice attack with the flame swordand will follow it up with asmash with the purple sword. The combo isn’t over yet, and the boss willfinish it with the cross-slash attack.
Getting closer to the boss will not help here, as you will get damaged by the sword smash. Instead, you shouldfocus on the direction of slices to dodge them in the opposite direction.
Slash Flurry
The boss attacks you with a combo of slashes using both of its swords.
The boss gets in a fighting stance and flies over the field, which is your cue to brace for the onslaught of attacks. You can eitherdash backward or avoid the attack in the opposite directionof its swords.
Ground Explosions
Gosoythoth disappears andcauses several explosionsto occur from beneath the ground. The boss willsuddenly appear and dash towards youwith another attack.
These explosions are unpredictable, so you should run and dash around the field to evade much damage. To avoid the final attack, observe the purple shadow of the boss and dodge quickly when you see the boss reappearing on the field.
Flurry of Dark Energy
Similar to the rain attack, the boss will shoot dark projectiles in a forward direction.
The boss willcharge up this attack first, which will beyour cue torun to the edge of the fieldto avoid the projectiles.
How To Beat The Lord Of Eroded Primal Fire
The Lord of Eroded Primal Fire is one of the toughest adversaries you will face in Genshin Impact. Itsattacks are highly damaging, so you really need to be careful before going on all-out attack. Stayingcloser to the boss will save you from many slashes and projectile attacks.
During the middle of the fight, the bosssummons three pillars, andyou need to destroy them as fast as you can using Nightsoul attacks.
If you fail to do so, the boss will launcha giant dark ball from the sky in your direction. This attack isunavoidable and will greatly damage you, even if you have a shield.
If you successfully destroy the pillars, the boss will enter an exhausted phase, which will be your cue to damage it as much as possible.
The boss will alsokeep slicing the field, so by the end of the battle, it will be much smaller. It might make it harder to get away from the attacks of the boss, so you should prioritize defeating it as soon as you can from here on.
