When the Skybound Avatar Conquest quest begins for the showdown with Louis, you’ll be called back to these towers for the optional Trial of the Dragon quests.
Among these trials, the Heroes' Rest in the Spire of Blind Faith dungeon stands out as the toughest of the lot. It’s best saved for last due to the challenge posed by the Devourer of Flames dragon boss waiting at the top. Here’s everything you need to know to overcome this calamity.
How To Start Trial Of The Dragon: Heroes' Rest
To start the Heroes' Rest trial,head to Dragon Statue Plaza on Virga Islandandspeak with Edenianytime after 9/25. He’ll inform you about thetrials linked to the three towers, which awaken during times of upheaval, and if you prove yourself in all three, you’ll gain unmatched power.
You’llreturn to theSpire of Blind Faith, and if you’ve previously explored the dungeon during thePeak Curiosity quest, its layout will be familiar.
The loot you’ve collected before remains gone, so don’t expect any respawns. The only differences are thehigh-level mobs that now inhabit the spireand thepowerful dragon boss waiting at the summit.
How To Prepare For The Trial Of The Dragon: Heroes' Rest
Therecommended level for attempting the Heroes' Rest Trial of the Dragon is 65 or above, and your main worry should be the dragon boss. You’ll have todeal with a lot of Fire attacksthat canpotentially wipe out your party, so consider the following items first before heading to the dungeon.
How To Beat The Devourer Of Flames
The dragon boss you’ll face in the Spire of Blind Faith is thelevel 70 Devourer of Flames.

Party-wide debuff that decreases Attack/Defence/Hit/Evasion.
Burn Down
Always OHKOs your party with Fire Damage unless you have equipped items that can either Block or Repel the elemental damage.
Flamespire of Ruin
Targets everyone in the front or back row with extreme Fire damage. It has a high chance of inflicting Burn.

Front
The Protagonist will be anall-around optionas thehealer sending party-wide healsand adamage dealer with Royal Slash.
Paladin or Royal Knight
Hulkenberg willfunction as a tank, but she’ll mostly buff party attacks by equipping theFormation of Vigor ability from Commander.
Ninja or Royal Thief
The boss’s attacks will mostly be evadedby good old Heimsay and his Thief Lineage,and that’ll help youdrain the boss’s turn icons.
Destroyer or Royal Berseker
Basilio’s Destroyer or Royal Berserker lineageresists all physical attacks, and he’spractically untouchablewith armour that makes him immune to Fire.
He’s also yourtop pick for dealing damage, and to maximize his potential, inherit passive effects likeStrike BoostandSense of Kinshipfor that extra punch.
Recommended Strategy
The Devourer of Stars fightfollows a similar strategy to the rest of the dragon bosses. You’ll want Heismay tokeep the boss in check by debuffing it and stripping away any buffs it applies, forcing the boss to waste turns reapplying its buffs, whileHulkenberg buffs your partyto keep your damage output high.
On the other hand,Basilio can push damage past 7,000with the proper setup. This involves using thePrince’s Hero’s Cry abilityto gain four additional Turn Icons, where you can amply buff the party. Then, reserve two turn icons to useBasilio’s Wanton Destruction synthesis skillto deal damage while applying a one-time Strike weakness to the boss.
On the next turn, you’ll want to usethe Berserker-inherited Charge abilityto maximize damage and thenunleash Wanton Destruction when available againfor devastating results.
There’s also reallyno reason to stay on the defensiveif you follow this strategy and have the correct gear. After all,Fire attacks, including Burn Down, won’t be a threat, and you’llconsistently deplete the boss’s turn icons. Plus, the selected archetypes willmostly resist the boss’s physical attacks, so defence will take a back seat.
Rewards For Completing Trial Of The Dragon: Heroes' Rest
Battle rewards for defeating the Devourer of Flames include some well-earned XP, A-XP, Mag, and Reeve. The actual prize, however, is completing the trial and earning theCardinal Dragon Armour, which bestows a+5 boost to Strength and Endurancewhile providingcomplete immunity against Fire attacks.
Overcoming all three trials has an even bigger payoff, as thisbreaks a seal in the Dragon Temple, which initiates theEssence of Power trial. This final challenge is where you’ll discover theelusive powerthat you’ve worked so hard to attain.
