Throughout the second half ofFantasian Neo Dimension, you’ll encounter plenty of the same characters you’ve met before but in some new circumstances. The same applies to bosses as well, though they’ll offer quite a bit more challenge the second go around.
For one of Ez’s quests, you must battle the Mecha Garlamash in an attempt to save your home. However, this particualr boss requires a rather specific means to defeat that isn’t exceedingly obvious. Here’s exactly what you need to do to defeat this house and save the workshop.
How To Unlock The Ez And The Guild Quest
In Act 2 of Fantasian, lots more quests will open up, allowing you to progress through them in any order that you want. One of Ez’s most important quests,Ez and the Guild, doesn’t have a harshly defined point at which it unlocks.
Provided he has been rescued and you’vealready finished Treasure Mountainwith him, then this quest will eventually unlock after you’ve completed enough story quests. ensure to check back on him frequently in Valrika’s laboratory so you don’t miss it.
For safety’s sake, be sure tocomplete the True Dimengeon questin the Workshop as soon as you can. This is available in Act 1.
How To Defeat Mecha Garlamash
Once this quest becomes available,Ez will ask to visit the Workshopso he can check in on his family there and share the stolen blueprint he found in the Guild’s HQ. All seems well when he arrives, thoughthe Guild promptly arriveswith a knock-off of one of Ez’s designs, with a rather unfortunate side effect - it summons monsters.
Hoping to sic mourners on the Workshop, Ez and his allies look todefeat the summoned Mecha Garlamash. Except this isn’t quite as simple as it should be.
Almost identical to the Garlamash you originally fought here while helping Tan, this has an extra gimmick with the smaller enemies that are surroundings it. A single hit to one of these enemies willcause them to self-destruct, dealing massive damage to the party.
The boss is also completely surrounded by them, leaving you no means of hitting them without setting off one of the smaller enemies first. So how exactly are you meant to manage this?
Be cautious of bringing characters that havethe Counter skill, as they are likely to set off the self-destruct effect. Avoiding using them, or deactivate the Counter skill for this battle.
If you’re playing on normal, you can brute force it.The boss is weak to fire attacks, and Leo has Fire Slash. If you spam this move and continuously heal the party, you can make it through eventually. This is a clumsy method though, anddoesn’t work at all on Hard.
Instead, you actually need a very specific skill for Ez, which he even alludes to during the battle. Except he doesn’t learn this skill naturally. Rather, it has to be gotten from his Growth Map.This skill is Vacuum, which drags all smaller enemies to the location you throw the item. Which means if you enter the fight without it, you’ll have tolet yourself be defeated first.
When you do acquire Vacuum, attempt to get its upgrades that give it awider area-of-effect, and lasts longer. This will let you cut through the boss much more quickly.
After you’ve gotten Vacuum, the fight is simple. Youthrow down Vacuum to either the left or right, so all the smaller enemies get dragged there. With space made, you can nowdirectly attack the boss. Just be careful not to use Ez’s grenades, Valrika’s Arrow Rain, or Cheryl’s Knight Impact as these all have quite wide hitboxes.
With this flow in mind, the boss is trivial. Use Ez to Vacuum the smaller enemies away, and thenbuff the team on the free turns. Leo and another party member can attack and debuff the boss respectively. The only major move they have tobe wary of is Delay Smash, where they attack the whole party and delay their next turn. So verify to stay healed up.
Make sure not to use anyone butEz or Kina’s Tension skillshere, as they will just defeat all the smaller enemies and wipe the party.
The Reward For Defeating Mecha Garlamash
After defeating the Mecha Garlamash, aside from the typical EXP and money, you’ll alsofully upgrade Ez’s Divine Artefact, which boosts the passive skill Item Saver, so there’s an even higher chance not to use up materials with skills, and lets him upgrade his Tension Skill, Infinite Loop, to give him even more turns.
Afterwards, a new quest can also unlock calledMerging Powers. As a sign of good faith between the Guild and the Workshop, they team up to create the ultimate weapon for Ez. He just needs to help gather the parts.
