Summary
Over the weekend, an incredibly egregious adult knockoff ofHelldivers 2launched on Steam. It’s your usual smut game, even included in the “Hot Load Bundle”, but this time styled on Arrowhead’s hugely successful live-service shooter. Blatantly so.
Dubbed “SEXDIVERS” (even using the same font), Octo Games' newest release is basically a watered down version of Helldivers 2 in which you fight back against giant bugs who look exactly like the Terminid, in gear that looks exactly like the Helldivers'. Only instead of doing it for democracy, freedom, and the greater good, you do it for 18+ “steamy scenes”.
Expectedly, it uses AI.
you’re able to watch these scenes during gameplay (which Steam user MeetTheFokker describes as “Video calls from hotties”). They’re situated on top of your health bar in the bottom left corner, like the Subway Surfer clips on TikTok but way less family friendly.
Shocker, “Helldivers For Gooners” Is A Broken Mess
Surprising absolutely nobody, this £4.74 knockoff from the developer who brought you Cumverse, Sex Apocalypse, and Furry Survivals 18+ isn’t very good. While it has “Very Positive” reviews on Steam, the bulk of those are jokes, look like they were written by bots, or are in protest at Arrowhead forthe old PSN controversy.
The negative reviews paint a much clearer picture. “Don’t buy this scam, almost nothing works: controller doesn’t work, waves are infinite, airdrop and half the keybinds are unusable, only support WASD, scenes are GIF and laughably bad, the gameplay is straight out of a mobile game from ten years ago. Pure scam like all their games,” the clearly withered smut veteran Sly76 writes.
The achievements really sum it up: “Kill 100 Dicktyopteras”, “Kill 100 Scorpenises”.
“One of the worst and laziest cash grabs ever,” another review reads. “Game tries to ride on Helldivers 2 hype and fails […] Only three types of enemies. Both you and enemies will constantly get stuck in [the] environment. Enemies just appear and disappear on screen. Terrible AI voice. You will hear the same five lines over and over and over again […] I understand that this game is cheap, but it’s still not worth five bucks.”
Others are just mad they can’t bone the Terminid… which, fair? At any rate, SEXDIVERS just goes to show how monumental a success Helldivers 2 has been, enough to spark a god awful Steam rip-off.
