10AMARA (The Great Intelligence)
The Great Challenge
AMARA was commissioned by Sega to be an extreme track that was intended to be very hard. The song’s artist, sasukure.UK,managed to achieve this in fantastic fashion with a fast, chaotic song that challenges any high-level players who thought they were good at the game to think again.
Having a Master difficulty level of 34 as well as a changing Beats-Per-Minuite (BPM), reaching as fast as 230 BPM, it can make your fingers move like they never have before. The way this song has been specifically written and made for the game with a strong challenge in mind makes it a standout track in not only Colorful Stage but any rhythm game.
9Don’t Fight The Music
Stay Determined To Defeat This Track
This song and its track were added as a part of the Geki! Chumai Arcade Collaboration, which introduced songs from Sega’s Arcade Rhythm series' O.N.G.E.K.I, Maimai, and Chunithm, with the sole intention of being boss tracks for this game. Don’t Fight The Music from O.N.G.E.K.I definitely deserves this title of a boss track.
This 8-bit sounding song really does feel like you are fighting against the boss of music with it throwing almost every kind of obstacle at you. From spamming quick notes, changing BPM and even using a variety of flick and hold notes in combination to create quite the challenge. It is, however, one of the more forgiving Master level 35 tracks with a set of notes that you can easily practise and master.
8End Mark Ni Kibou To Namida Wo Soete
Marking You As A Master
The wonderfulcosMo@BousouPis a classic Vocaloid artist who has made so many incredible songs. This song from them comes into the game as part of the Geki! Chumai Arcade Collab, which added a song from three of Sega’s other rhythm series. End Mark specifically, comes from Chunithm.
End Mark is a nightmare of a track with a BPM of 257 as well as over 1,900 notes in a endless feeling song length of 2:21. You need to be able to react at rapid speeds to the constant barrage of notes that will go all over the track. If you can endure the rapid tapping with precision and focus, then you will rise above the challenge as a rhythmic master.
7The End Of Hatsune Miku
The End Of Your Thumbs' Strength
Having a Master level of 35 alongside a devilish 1,666 notes, The End of Hatsune Miku is a horrifyingly tough track for every player. This song will stop at nothing to make sure it ends your full combo and cramp your fingers with its tricky track.
There is the usual difficult note spam throughout the track, but what makes this stand above others is the heavy use of alternating long notes and flick notes. These change almost constantly in parts and can be really hard to keep on top of with the speed of 240 BPM, which already makes the track hard enough to keep on top of.
6The EmpErroR
Prove Your Self As A Monarch Over Rhythm Games
This track was brought over from Maimai, another Sega rhythm game series, as a part of the Geki! Chumai Arcade Collab to create some boss battle like tracks in the Master difficulty. You need to be on the top of your muti-note game, as when the beat drops the track will assault, you will have hundreds of notes that will require more than two fingers to play.
This barrage is never ending, unfortunately, as the track has pretty much no breaks in the two-minute run time and expects you to hit almost 1,600 notes. The 240BPM does not sell this track enough as in some sections it feels like you’re hitting upwards of 18 notes per second.
5MACHINEGUN POEM DOLL
Shoot For A Full Combo
As a part of the first anniversary, some songs were made specifically for the game, featuring popular Vocaloid artists. One of the most notorious is the beloved cosMo@BosouP. CosMo was already behind some of the songs with the most difficult tracks in the game and so, of course, this was taken even further with MACHINEGUN POEM DOLL.
Even on Expert this track is one of the toughest, but Master takes it to another level, with rapid, quick fire notes that require perfect timing and precision by the millisecond and nanometer. You almost need a team full of Healer skill Cards to stand a chance at cleaning the 220 BPM nightmare and its sonic speed notes.
4JINSEI [Our Life]
Can You Handle All 5 Vocaloids At Once?
A special contest is held every year within the community to add some ultra hard tracks to the game, this is known as the ProSEKA Ultimate contest. All the songs that have been added fall into the Master difficulty level between levels 35 to 37, which are the highest. JINSEI [Our Life] is one of the first year winners that stands as more than just a test of skill.
JINSEI [Our Life] is notoriously difficult due to its multiple Vocaloids that all sing different styles. This can lead to the song slowing down and speeding up at various intervals to mess your timing up on any of the 2,242 notes. This alone makes this song harder than many others, as it can be a mess to coordinate yourself with both the changing beat and the vocalists.
3What’s Up? Pop!
What’s Up? Oh, Do Your Fingers Hurt?
The diabolic name of the song, What’s Up? Pop! makes you feel as if it’s personally asking you why you can’t beat it every failed attempt. With a Master level of 37 and having over 2,300 notes, it does not spare any easy moments throughout the 2:40 track length.
All seems fine until sections suddenly require three fingers or even more to hit three notes at once. Most, if not almost all tracks in the rest of Colorful Stage only have two notes at once or has them separated so that you can quickly tap them. If you use your thumbs to play the game, this song is near impossible because of this, due to having to move your entire hand grip to hit three notes.
2The Intense Voice Of Hatsune Miku
Ready For Five Minutes Of Intense Notes?
The iconic song, The Intense Voice of Hatsune Miku, has destroyed many of the best players. Originally, this song was quite challenging but not anything that those who have mastered the game couldn’t handle. That was until the rise of its revenge with the addition of the full version of the song alongside its higher than Master, Append, difficulty level.
The full version holds the record for the longest track in the game, sitting at five minutes of painful tapping of 4,500 notes. This is a ridiculous task on its own, but the intense chorus will destroy you and all your hard work right at the end of the grueling song. As a limited-time track, it has left more than enough of a mark on our fingers to be one of theabsolute hardest tracks, truly showing how difficult Colorful Stage can be.
1YAMINABE!!!!
The Final Test Of Skill And Reaction Time
YAMINABE!!! is a song to be feared, with a Master difficulty of Level 37 and over 2,000 notes. It originated as one of the three winners of the ProSEKA Ultimate contest, which was held to specifically add some of the hardest tracks in the game. These tracks succeeded withflying colors as bright as Miku’s legacy, but YAMINABE!!! goes beyond the word difficult.
While things may feel calm and slow at a nice 75 BPM, this is just a quickly fleeting moment. YAMINABE!!!’s specialty is its dynamic BPM that changes drastically throughout and reaches speeds as high as 300 BPM! Like every Master track, almost every second you will be bombarded with notes all over, but nothing compares to the speed and sheer amount of notes in the finale, which are brutal.
