Summary

For the first time in the series' history,Halomight be playable on a console other than anXbox. That is at least according to leaker and podcaster NateTheHate, who says thatHalo: The Master Chief Collectionis going to be ported toPlayStation 5and Nintendo Switch 2.

Alongside this history-making port, NateTheHate also says in thislatest podcastthatMicrosoft Flight Simulatorwill launch on rival platforms (thanks,VGC). If true, this will be part of Microsoft’s ongoing reversal of its strategy to secure exclusives, as it’s now sharing much of its library with Sony and Nintendo’s platforms.

Xbox Is Reportedly Sharing Halo With Nintendo And Sony

Microsoft Flight Simulator will apparently be ported alongside Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Neither of these ports has been confirmed - and the Switch 2 itself hasn’t even been unveiled yet - but it would not be surprising given Xbox’s recent strategy when it comes to its exclusive titles. Ever since last year, we’ve been getting more ports of older releases, which eventually became new releases having their own PS5 ports confirmed before launch.

One of the most recent examples is The Outer Worlds 2. In a new trailer, it wasrevealed that it would be coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. We’re also going to getIndiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5at some point this year.

Of course, none of these are as significant as Halo making its way onto another platform. If The Master Chief Collection really does get ported to PS5 and Switch 2, then it’s safe to assume that nothing is off the table when it comes to future ports.

Right now, both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator are available exclusively on PC and Xbox.
