Summary
Grand Theft Auto 6fans are coping really badly at the minute. After putting all of their hopes onRockstar releasing the game’s second trailer during a certain moon phase, many weresomehow heartbroken to find out that it was just an imagined conspiracy theory. They’re desperate for that second look at the game, searching every inch of the internet for any clue, and now they think they’ve found one.
There’s still time left for Rockstar to wow everyone this year, and a new theory that the developer is going to upload the long-awaited second trailer on December 27 is picking up steam. It all started when GTA fans started looking at historical records of Bonnie and Clyde, the duo that Grand Theft Auto 6 protagonists Jason and Lucia are supposedly inspired by.
GTA 6 Fans Think Bonnie & Clyde Are Teasing The Second Trailer’s Release Date
Hey, It’s More Plausible Than The Moon
The theory, shared by Reddit user Insightangel, comes from the identification order number on an old arrest warrant for Bonnie and Clyde that was issued by the Division of Investigation at the US Department of Justice. According to the document, they were given the number 1227, which, when put into a date format, gives you December 27.
That discovery planted the number 27 into the minds of every desperate GTA 6 fan out there, who are now scouring Rockstar’s social media channels and GTA 6 marketing for that exact number. It was quickly discovered thatRockstar’s Instagram account has a total of 27 posts, while Twitter user TrevorTraileralso claims that the date for the second trailer was hidden in the first this entire time.
One alleged tease is during the scene in which riot police are breaking down a door, and the numbers in the top right of the screen add up to 12 and 27 (if you ignore the 500). It’s also claimed that December 27 is teased by the license plate of Jason and Lucia’s getaway vehicle, as cross-referencing it with the alphabet and adding up the number gets you 27.
I personally think it’s a bit of a reach, but there is more tangible evidence that a trailer is coming, such as Rockstar mysteriously updating the GTA 6 YouTube playlistat the start of the month. I doubt that Rockstar has gone to such lengths to tease a trailer, but I will tip my hat and eat my words if I’m wrong. We don’t have to wait too long to find out.
