Summary

With news onGrand Theft Auto 6coming to a complete halt since its reveal a year ago, fans are taking to pouring over aRockstar Gamesdeveloper’s goodie bag for potential clues.

If you had told the Rockstar fanbase a couple of months ago that thefirst anniversary of GTA 6’s reveal trailer would roll by and we’d have absolutely zero news to talk about, I don’t think any of them would have believed you. As mysterious as Rockstar is,a year-long silence without a trailer or even new screenshots is very unusual for the developer.

And yet, that’s exactly the position that we’re in, with 2024 rolling by and giving us nothing more thanmultiple assurances that GTA 6 will be launching in Fall 2025. With Rockstar keeping quiet about one of the biggest games of all time, fans have been left desperate for newsover the past few months and, despite impressively tearing Trailer 1 apart, it’s getting tougher to watch.

Rockstar Developer Shares Studio Christmas Present And Fans Think It’s A Clue

I thought the infamous Moon Theorythat attempted to use the position of the moon in a GTA 5 screenshot to figure out when we’d get Trailer 2 was the furthest fans were willing to go, but it looks like I was wrong. As most studios do,Rockstar Games recently gave its employees some fun Christmas gifts, which were shared online by a few developers.

Those gifts include a jumper, a carrying bag, and a poster that all seem to feature the Rockstar Games logo on them. Beyond the colour grading giving off some heavy Vice City vibes, there’s nothing particularly noteworthy about the gifts, but that hasn’t stopped fans from pouring over them for any potential clues.

Over on Twitter,Rockstar North mission designer Reckope shared an image of the presents he received from the studio, seemingly just to highlight an admittedly very cool set of merch. This post, along with another that was shared, has been found by the GTA 6 subreddit and put under a microscope for any “secret/bait messages”.

In fairness, a lot of fans on the subreddit are calling out the hunt for scraping the bottom of the barrel, but it does seem like a few actually think there are some clues to be found.

Despite that very clearly not being the case, some fans are even zooming in on the notebook within the image to see if it has any potential clues. While Rockstar is very good at hiding things and the hunt for legitimate secrets has been a lot of fun, it’s definitely time to just let the developers cook and wait for something a bit more concrete.
