How To Escape The Police Station

You’ll begin the game in a conversation with the two police officers interrogating poor Arthur. Your decisions in the conversation don’t matter, sochoose whichever onesyou want.

Once you have control of Arthur, you’ll have to find a way to reach the keys on the left side of the screen, which are the keys to the shackles around Arthur’s foot.

Start bypicking up the desk fanat the back of the room and thenpick up the newspaperon the desk in the centre.Combine themin your inventory to create a ‘crudely constructed air funnel’.

Use this new item with the keysfound on the coat rack on the left. The keys will fall, but out of your reach.

Pick up the umbrella and use it on the keysto get free. Afterwards, examine the window on the rightto progress. Pick any choice in the conversation with the police officers again, and you’ll move on to the Prologue proper.

What To Do On The Reuss Express

The game will shift Arthur back into the past, on board the Reuss Express.Move to the left in this, the Sleeper Carriage, and eavesdrop on the people here if you wish. To continue, enter the room with the opened door.

When Herman leaves, open and read the letter(you’ll need to manually break the wax seal, which gets added to your inventory) that he left on the right side of the screen, and thenput the blue suit on.

Leave the room andmake your way down the train to the right. Along the way, you can meet a variety of characters who will become important over the course of the game. Leaving the Dining Carriage to the right will have you witnessing a scene between Lady Unterwald and her hired artist.

Speaking to the twinsin the Dining Carriage will let you choose to side with one of them afterasking them about themselves, which gets you an achievement. You’ll have to do this sequence twice to get both achievements.

After the cutscene in Lady Unterwald’s room, slide open the window to progress. The next scenes will end the Prologue and begin Part 1: The Late Lady Unterwald.
