Summary
PlayStation has seriously expanded its DualSense collection during the latter half of 2024,revealing its Chroma collectionas well as a couple of themed controllers connected to its exclusives. This week’s offering falls into the latter category, although it’s not tied to a game from one of PlayStation’s studios. It’s theFortniteDualSense that was revealed during the most recent Showcase, and it’s available now.
Fortnite’s DualSense appears to have a Starlight Blue base, one of the previously released color options for the controller, but naturally it’s the battle royale-themed stuff that has been applied to that base that makes this controller special. The PS5 accessory has been covered in graffiti, designed to look like various Fortnite players have left their tags on it.
While there are street art versions of Fishtick and Peely on each grip and Fortnite with “Where we droppin'?” sprayed across the touchpad, it’s the litany of other details featured across the design that really sets this DualSense apart from the others PlayStation has offered up. The front of the controller is covered in smaller pictures that effectively make this the first PS5 controller to be covered in easter eggs waiting for Fortnite fans to find once they get one in hand so they can take a closer look.
