Summary
Epic Gamesmade a very popular decision in 2023 when it brought backFortnite’s original map. It then made an even more popular decision at the end of 2024 when it decided to bring back the game’s original map for good via Fortnite OG. That old-school mode moves into its second season at the end of this month, and that means the return of one of Fortnite’s most popular locations.
If you were to ask someone where they were dropping during Fortnite’s first chapter, statistically speaking they’d have replied Tilted Towers. The loot-heavy location was effectively the center of Fortnite’s universe during the game’s early seasons, and next week, the original version of Tilted Towers comes to Fortnite OG.
If you know your Fortnite lore, then the triumphant return of the original Tilted Towers in OG Season Two will come as no surprise. The location made its debut during Chapter One Season Two, so if Fortnite OG really is going to follow the same trajectory as the game’s original run, then Tilted Towers was always going to return during its second season.
Tilted Towers Returns Via Fortnite OG On January 31
Prepare To Embrace The Chaos
Epic confirmed Tilted Towers will return in OG Season Two by sharing an image of players dropping into the revived location along with confirmationthe new season will begin on January 31. Players needed to find somewhere else to drop if they wanted the beginning of their rounds to be hectic almost six years ago when a volcano destroyed the original Tilted Towers, although it was quickly replaced by a new, more futuristic version of the location called Neo Tilted less than a month later.
Tilted Towers has returned, both in its original form and under different names, at various points on the Fortnite timeline and in various modes. It’s been Salty Towers, Tainted Towers, and at one point it was covered in snow and we had to wait weeks for that snow to thaw so we could be reunited with it again.
This potentially triumphant return of the location in what will hopefully be its original glory feels different, though. Not only will it hopefully be an exact replica of the original Tilted Towers, but its trajectory might follow the same one the location went on during Fortnite’s first chapter. The only things that are certain for now are Tilted Towers will be back, and that everyone will want to start their matches there once it returns on January 31.
