Naturally, fans immediately had a ball with the concept of Cell in Jordan’s, with many adding to the legend of NBA player Perfect Cell.
Seriously, it doesn’t get better than this. And if it wasn’t for Fortnite collaborating with Nike, we wouldn’t have gotten a revival of this legendary meme.
NBA Perfect Cell Has Some Wild Origins
For the uninitiated and/or confused, NBA Perfect Cell first debuted in 2020 via a modded version of NBA 2K20. That mod had multiple fictional characters playing basketball, though none more iconic than Perfect Cell on the Orlando Magic.
The creators behind the meme let it play out, even taking their creation into full NBA seasons. At one point, Cell even participated in the NBA’s Dunk Contest. For a creature made up of the DNA of other beings, Cell certainly has some skills.
It’s the exact kind of absurd hilarity that the Internet has become known for over the years. And so long as Fortnite’s kicks remain a thing, NBA player Perfect Cell will continue to live on.
