Nintendo Switch 2 Is Launching Sometime This Year
But first, a Nintendo Direct
At the time of writing, we don’t know much about what Nintendo is going to show during the presentation in April, but if it’s anything like the reveal of the original Switch, we can expect a good look at the console itself and some teases about the successor’s lineup of games.
Already, it looks like we have a new Mario Kart to look forward to (as evident by the new track and character designs, most notably Yoshi and Donkey Kong, as well as there being 15 characters on screen at once), while there are alsomurmurs of next-gen Pokemon games like Gen 10 and Legends Z-A. Perhaps we’ll find out more about these soon.
Nintendo’s reveal of the Switch 2 couldn’t come sooner as, despite its best attempts to keep things quiet, console accessory manufacturers and leakers have been giving away the whole farm.
Since the start of 2025 alone we’ve learnedabout the successor’s name, its advanced Joy-Cons, and even seen several mock-ups of what the console is going to look like. All of which turned out to be incredibly accurate to the real thing.
