However, one game you might not have expected to have such a big launch isFarming Simulator 25. The surprisingly stress-inducing title was released earlier this month and has already had more players than some of this year’s biggest games.
Farming Simulator 25 Has One Of 2025’s Biggest Launches
TheFarming Simulatorgames aren’t as niche as you might think. The series' previous entry, Farming Simulator 22, peaked at over 105,000 players when it launched around three years ago. This year’s entry has blown that out of the water, though, reaching just shy of 136,000 players onSteamthis past weekend, a 30 percent increase on its predecessor.
This peak means Farming Simulator 25’s launch is the 16th biggest on Steam of the year, falling just behindValve’sownDeadlockand indie hitManor Lords.The 135,970 players, confirmed bySteamDB, also make it the 107th-highest-played game of all time.Not bad for a farming game.

While Farming Sim 25 falls short of Deadlock and Manor Lords, it still claims some pretty huge scalps. Its player count far exceeds some of this year’s biggest titles, includingDragon Ball: Sparking Zero, which had 122,554 players;Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s89,418; andMetaphor: ReFantazio’s85,961. It’s also beaten the all-time peaks of games likeXcom 2,Battlefield 2042andBattlefield V,Dark Souls 3,Borderlands 2, andDead by Daylight.
The game, which invites players to “Build a farm along winding rivers and historic grain elevators in North America, surrounded by ponds in Central Europe, or in a lush East Asian landscape,” currently sits at “Mostly Positive” on Steam, so not only does it have a lot of players, but those players are having a great time.
