Summary
Dragon Age: The Veilguardplayers have found a bunch of easter eggs, most of them relating to other games in the series, orMass Effect. However, tucked away in the Arlathan Forest, some have found a reference toDungeon Meshi, the manga series that got an anime adaptation earlier this year.
The reference comes in the form of three characters you may come across, all bearing an unmistakable likeness to Laios, Marcille, and Senshi. Poor Chilchuck is left out - no halflings in Thedas, after all.
Dungeon Meshi Characters Can Be Found In Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The characters have been recreated about as well as they can be in The Veilguard, with Senshi even getting the legendary cheese wheel shield on his back. Best of all, we can see that they’re cooking a Deepstalker - typical Laios behaviour. If he was really transported to Thedas, I’d give it a day before he’s blighted because he wondered what a Hurlock would taste like.
If you want the exact location of the Dungeon Meshi gang, TikTok user soltaven has us covered. They haven’t popped up in my playthrough, but the area was surrounded by enemies, so you may have to clear them out first for them to appear.
This is far from the only easter egg tucked away in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. As we covered yesterday, there’s areference to Elden Ring’s infamous player messagesin one of Emmrich’s missions.
Then, there are the references to Mass Effect. The most obvious one isthe N7 Day armour that was added last week, but as players have noticed, Bellaraalso makes a joke about doing “calibrations”. Yet another companion who’s too busy calibrating to talk to us, it seems.
