Summary

A common complaint aimed atDragon Age: The Veilguardis thatRook doesn’t feel like a core member of the group. Sure, we’re their leader, andwe fix all of their problems, but it seems that the titular Veilguard prefer hanging out with each other, not including our character.

Now, we have a mod that fixes that.Rook Joins the Book Clubfrom Nexus Mods user ziraelxx does exactly what it says on the tin, letting our hero take part in the regular book club meetings held by our team. This works by editing the codex entries we get about these meetings, changing the wording to make it clear that Rook was there.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Mod Lets Rook Join The Book Club

The wording in the book club codex entries varies by background

The book club meetings are never seen, but we find out about them through codex entries. These entries include notes on the book that the gang read, as well as some thoughts on what each attendee thought of the story.

With the mod, some comments from Rook are included. To try and keep it in character for our specific Rook, each background gets unique comments. For example, if you’re a Grey Warden, you’ll say that the depiction of your order was inaccurate in one of the books you read, but you “refused to elaborate” on how - a nod to how the Wardens are supposed to be secretive. On the other hands, a Crow Rook will be pleased that one of the books understands the distinction between a murderer and an assassin.

This isn’t the only mod that makes Dragon Age: The Veilguard more personalised. As we covered previously, another mod lets you (kinda) import your Hero of Ferelden, adding their name to the Joining chalice you can find in Weisshaupt. This mod has an option for each of the backgrounds, so your Warden can be namedropped at least once in the game.
