Summary

PlayStationhas upped its game in recent years when it comes to porting its biggest franchises to PC.The Last of Us Part 2,God of War Ragnarok, andHorizon Forbidden Westhave all made the jump, while smaller titles likeReturnalandHelldivers 2have alsoseen quite a bit of success. It feels like PlayStation is happy for almost anything to release on PC if it could make them a bit of extra cash.

“Almost” is the key word there though, as it seems like there are one or two games that PlayStation has no intention of ever releasing on console.Demon’s Soulshas been tipped as one such title, as claimed by a PlayStation insider who has in the past shared accurate information about the company’s PC port ahead of release.

The main character in Demon’s Souls stands facing a horde of enemies.

Demon’s Souls May Never Release On PC, Says PlayStation Insider

First Bloodborne, Now This

IconEra user Bryank75 is the insider in question, who leaked a trailer for the PC version of Returnal back in 2022. They’re now back withmore info on PlayStation’s PC dealings, though it’s nowhere near as exciting this time around. In their most recent post, they claim to have “good authority” that a PC port for Demon’s Souls is not currently in development.

They also claim that it’s possible that Demon’s Souls “may never go to PC” as part of PlayStation’s plans for the platform, as there don’t seem to be any plans in place in “this generation at least”. That means we’re either looking at a Demon’s Souls PC port years and years in the future, or it’s just not happening, according to Byrank75.

It was also claimed by this person that a PC port forGran Turismo 7was also reportedly shelved by PlayStation, and that these plans are no longer going ahead. Quite why PlayStation has seemingly shifted its approach to releasing games on the platform is a mystery for now. It seems like easy money on the table, though a Bloodborne remaster does too,and we’re still waiting for that one.
