Summary

Capcomhas shared some early player statistics forDead Rising Deluxe Remaster, which confirm how powerful the Small Chainsaw is, how easy the Convicts are to kill, and that a lot of fans didn’t finish the easier Infinity Mode.

Considering how many years Dead Rising fans spent begging Capcom to bring the series back in some form,it’s a little wild to think that it’s already been three months since we got exactly that. Back in September, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster released andgave us a jazzed-up version of the original game that came with a bunch of improvements.

Now that fans have had a quarter of a year in the remade version of Willamette Mall,Capcom has decided to share some statistics from that time period, which reveal a surprising amount about the way players have been getting on with the game so far. If you’re a long-term fan like me, some of the results are obvious, but there are still some surprises within.

Funnily enough, the statistics are actually based on the game’s digital launch up until October 27, so the numbers are likely even higher than that by now.

The first stats that are shared reveal that players have played for a whopping 289 years and 139 days so far, which is close to three centuries. It’s not clear if that’s in Dead Rising time or real-world time, but it’s impressive nonetheless. Players have also racked up more 346, 915, 032 kills in that time, which is more than enough for the Zombie Annihilator achievement.

Now let’s get onto the good stuff - the weapons. According to the statistics, the most-used weapon in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is the Lead Pipe, followed strangely by the Shotgun and Handgun. The Baseball Bat and Hunting Knife take up fourth and fifth place, which makes a bit more sense since they’re so commonly found.

What’s really interesting, though, is the deadliest weapons stats, which are the items used to kill the most zombies and enemies.Of course, the number one slot goes to the infamously overpowered Small Chainsaw, followed by the Machine Gun, Shotgun, and the Katana. What’s really surprising is that theone-hit-kill Mannequin Torso is nowhere to be seen on the list, suggesting it’s still a bit of a secret.

The stats also reveal that theConvicts (or Prisoners, whatever floats your boat) are the most-killed Psychopaths in the game, followed by Adam and Stephen. That’s basically just the order in which you fight them.

One of the most surprising parts of the breakdown comes at the end, where it’s confirmed that only 34.7 percent of playersmanaged to survive seven days in Infinity Mode. That modeishard, but it’s much easier than the original game, and considering how many complaints there were about Deluxe Remaster being too easy, the low stat comes as quite a surprise.
