Summary

CD Projekt Redhas just revealed new features coming inCyberpunk 2077version 2.2. The patch was also shadowdropped at the end of a livestream and should be downloadable now.

The patch focuses on letting players “express themselves”. As part of this, the devs have added more than 100 new character customisation options, such as new cyberware, makeup, and eyes. The photo mode has also received some huge improvements, letting us take pictures with NPCs.

New Cyberpunk 2077 Patch Adds A Bunch Of New Features

Johnny tags along for car journeys, V gets new cyberware, and more

The livestream went over the update in great detail, but thepatch noteshave been shared now for anyone who missed it.

First up, there’s vehicle customisation. This has been expanded on from a previous update, now letting players change the look of more cars and bikes. There’s also a new “Twin Tone” feature, which lets you scan another car and save its appearance for later.

While you’re driving around Night City in your new vehicles, Johnny will also have a chance of popping up in the passenger seat. According to the devs, he has a 25 percent chance of appearing outside of combat and story missions and will make comments based on V’s driving.

Then, there are the photo mode improvements. New features have been added based on feedback from the community, including the ability to spawn up to three NPCs for a photoshoot. These photos can then be hung up in V’s apartments.

Last but by no means least, there are more character customisation options. The devs say that more than 100 new options have been added, ranging from makeup to cyberware. There’s also a randomiser option if you’re struggling, with a slider to say whether you’d like to look more “plain” or “punk”.

This comes about a year after what wasassumed to be the final major update for Cyberpunk 2077. This added a usable metro service and portable radio, and came shortly after the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion.

Today’s announcement also comes on Cyberpunk 2077’s fourth anniversary. It’s safe to say that the game has come a long way from the disaster it was in 2020, thanks to various updates. Earlier today, a lead dev admitted thatit was “f**cking hard” to get Cyberpunk 2077 more in line with fan expectations, but says it was “worth it” in the end.

As for what comes next, the team are working on a sequel, currently known as Project Orion. We have basically no details on this right now, asthe next Witcher game is much further ahead in developmentsince it’s been a lot longer since we had an instalment in that series. We’ll have to wait and see what the devs are getting up to with Cyberpunk’s first sequel.
