Summary

Fortnite’s collaboration withCyberpunk 2077was unveiled over the weekend, confirming that V and Johnny are joining the game. This also means that the game had to settle on a particular design for V since everything about their appearance can be changed in Cyberpunk 2077.

In this instance, the feminine character model for V was chosen, which isn’t too surprising. Whereas male V featured in much of the promotional material before launch, female V has taken over since then, even making it onto the box art forPhantom Libertyand the Ultimate Edition re-release. However, some fans aren’t happy about this at all and want male V to be added to Fortnite too.

Cyberpunk 2077 Fans Are Split On The Fortnite Collab

Some players want male V and other Cyberpunk 2077 characters to be added later

Ever since the character models were revealed, fans have been split. While many are pleased to see Cyberpunk representation in Fortnite, others are annoyed that V is going to look so different to the one they played in 2077, especially if they played as male V.

However, some are pleased to seeCD Projekt Redstick with fem V once again, after she became the face of the series post-launch. In an industry where male is often seen as the default, many are pleased that Cyberpunk 2077 has gone a different route.

Of course, when you’re dealing with a protagonist that varies a lot based on how players picture them, it is always going to divide fans when you have to pick a look. For the most part, it seems that the community is pleased though, and is just hoping that more characters - perhaps even some from the Edgerunners anime - will be added in the future.
