Summary

There’s good news and bad news regarding the upcoming release of the Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos remaster. The bad news is it won’t be here before the end of 2024 as planned. The good news is that gives you another chance to pre-order the game. The even better news is Argonaut Games has confirmed there have already been discussions to do more with the series beyond the initial remaster.

The Croc devsissued a statement on Friday confirming that its remaster of the first Croc game will no longer be released this month. Legend Of The Gobbos remastered now hasa new launch window of Q1 2025. Not the longest delay in the world, and Argonaut was very open about the possibility of the remaster’s release needing to be pushed into early next year if it didn’t feel the game was ready to go by Christmas.

If the Croc remaster sells well enough, and then Croc 2 does too, there have even already been discussions to finally complete the trilogy. Argonaut was in the process of developing a third Croc game, Stone of the Gobbos, when the studio closed in 2004 and the series' IP was sold. The third Croc game was canceled and until the upcoming remaster, outside of a few mobile games, there had been nothing from the platforming crocodile for 25 years.
