Summary
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6has received its first significant update and patch since December 10, and there’s a lot to unpack.First and foremost, the previously-announced Squid Games collaboration is now fully live, with modes like Red Light, Green Light and Squid Game Moshpit being added.
Black Ops 6 has had patches throughout December, though none were as comprehensive as Friday’s.
However, while Squid Games almost certainly headlines the update, many ofthe scorestreaks in the game have received an overhaul for better or worse.
Care Package Is Finally Good
Chief among the overhauls is the fact that the Care Package is more useful. That’s because the Scout Pulse scorestreak will now appear less in packages moving forward. That means a chance at something useful and not a personal radar.
Elsewhere, the Dreadnought has had its HP increased, making it less vulnerable to enemy attacks. It’s also seen a decrease in cost, going from 1,800 to 1,700. That particular change hasn’t flown particularly well with players, with one writing on Reddit, “Brother, I can barely get a chopper gunner down with my non-helpful teammates.”
The RC-XD has slightly increased damage, while the LDBR will do less damage to the person calling it in.Based off the notes on Activision’s website, it doesn’t look like any scorestreaks had an increase in score requirement, with many actually getting decreases.
Beyond scorestreak fixes, mantle speed has been increased and doors can be opened or closed while sprinting.Zombies also had a slew of changes. Most notably, it appears that Directed Mode has been nerfed for camo farming with a delay increase between rounds. Speaking of Directed Mode,it’s now available for the first post-launch map, Citadel des Morts. All in all, it’s a pretty significant update that should help the game continue to feel fresh.
