InPalworld, the people in this world are as interesting as the Pals. How did your character end up here? Do the Tower bosses have a backstory? What about the various groups from different organizations patrolling each island? Is the story about you being the hero or the villain?
Some questions are hard to answer. For instance, the people guarding the Wildlife Sanctuaries are probably not bad. But when it comes to real villains, did you know there’s a bounty system? Maybe it’s time to stand for justice and punish them.
Bounty System, Explained
Bounty NPCs, also known as Wanted Fugitives, are criminals with a bounty placed on their heads. They can be found in various locations on the map, each having a specific point. Each one has a different level, so if you’re unprepared, fighting a Wanted Fugitive that is stronger than you’re able to make things quite difficult.
Mechanically, they are very similar to Alpha Pals. However, the main difference is that they are not Pals, but human NPCs. Once you defeat or capture a Wanted Fugitive, they will respawn, so you can repeat these tasks multiple times.
When you approach a Wanted Fugitive, you may see their level, but it’s not always a good idea to base your decision solely on this. Instead,it’s wiser to check their levels on your map before engaging them, so you can prepare accordingly. After defeating them, their icons will turn gray on the map, but this doesn’t mean you can’t fight them again, as they will respawn.
You’ll easily recognize Wanted Fugitives when you see them. Unlike other human NPCs,they have a purple, smoky aura around them. You can gather information about these Wanted Fugitivesby talking to Intel Dealerslocated in various areas of the map. Some places where you can find Intel Dealers include Small Settlement and Fisherman’s Point.
While Intel Dealers will provide you with the locations of Wanted Fugitives, it may not be essential. You can alsouse the map’s filters to track where they are located. However, keep in mind that the locations of Wanted Fugitives in unexplored areas will not be visible on your map.
When you defeat a Wanted Fugitive, you will receive Bounty Tokens as a reward.Higher-level Wanted Fugitives will grant you more Bounty Tokens. These tokens can be exchanged for gold or other useful items. After obtaining the tokens, you must take them to a Vigilante Bounty Officer. These officers are also found in places like Small Settlement or Fisherman’s Point.
It’s important to note that these tokens are different from Pal Bounty Tokens. Pal Bounty Tokens are obtained from Alpha Pals and allow you to enter dungeons.
You don’t have to kill a Wanted Fugitive to complete the task—you may simply capture them, and they’ll count as defeated.
Capturing Wanted Fugitives is a better idea than killing them;as capturing grants you their loot, and later, you can butcher them with aMeat Cleaveror Pal Disassembly Conveyor for even more loot. This also helps you earn extra Bounty Tokens.
In addition to the Bounty Tokens, when you defeat a Wanted Fugitive for the first time, you will also earn an Ancient Technology Point, similar to defeating Alpha Pals.
