Summary
Bloodbornehas plenty of enemies that make you want to claw your eyes out, and that’s without the advancements of modern system (please PlayStation, I’m begging you). You can’t walk ten feet in Yharnam without coming across a walking pile of flesh, rabid werewolf, or sentient pile of bones. Almost every aspect of Bloodborne is so gorey and gross that you can find yourself slightly desensitized to it all, but there is one enemy out there that chills every Bloodborne player to the spine.
If you’ve never stepped foot in the Chalice Dungeons, then chances are you’ve never actually come across the Labyrinth Sage, also known as the Labyrinth Madman by some. It looks just as gross and horrible as every other enemy in Bloodborne at a distance, but the real dread comes from when this thing actually sees you. It’s lanky, twitchy, incredibly fast, extremely strong, and rushes you down without giving you the time to even blink.
Bloodborne Fans Are Still Horrified By The Chalice Dungeons Labyrinth Sage
It’s all these things combined, plus the fact it wields a human’s twitching, blood-covered body as a weapon, that has given the Labyrinth Sage the reputation as one of the worst enemies in the entirety of Bloodborne. In fact, I’d go one step further and say it’s the freakiest thing that FromSoftware has put in one of its games, period.
A Reddit user called Fast_Buy1753lovingly reminded everyone of the Labyrinth Sage via the Bloodborne subreddit earlier this week, calling the thing the “most disgusting enemy in the whole game”. It seems that most other Bloodborne fans are in agreement, with many taking the opportunity to recount their tales of first running into this monstrosity. For example, a user called Giorgosfy says that the first time they found one they “almost lost [their] s**t”.
Another user called Citrinitas115 says they were “legitimately afraid” upon crossing one for the first time, while another user called Darkwings13 says that when they first encountered one, “all I heard was some yelling, turned around and immediately died”. It seems as though the first encounter with a Labyrinth Sage was quite a traumatic experience for everyone. Thanks for that, FromSoftware.
