Black Myth: Wukong developer Game Scienceused the game’s official Twitter accountto thank players for their “enthusiasm and ongoing support”, which netted them the Ultimate Game of the Year award, and the award for Best Visual Design.
It’s possible to see this as a sign of things to come, though it’s worth pointing out that The Golden Joysticks is decided by player voting. If you’re looking at this and thinking that Black Myth: Wukong has the grand prize at The Game Awards locked down, it isn’t that simple. Critical consensus will likely play a part in The Game Awards voting,and Black Myth: Wukong is the lowest ever rated nominee.
It has a decent shot,but with Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree in the running, almost anything is possible at the moment. We’ll find out which game will come out on top next month, as The Game Awards will take place on December 13.
