Warzonehas undergone countless changes since its release, with each new Call of Duty title integrated into it, bringing updates to weapons, movement mechanics, and more. Sometimes, it can feel overwhelming to keep up, especially now with the release ofBlack Ops 6introducing new omnidirectional movement and weapons—there’s a lot to take in.
Whether you’ve been playing since its launch in 2020, are returning after a long break prompted by Black Ops 6, or are jumping into Warzone for the first time, these tips can help improve your experience and, hopefully, boost your chances of getting more wins.
We’ll continue updating this article with more tips and tricks to help you out.
Resurgence Before Battle Royale
Whether it’s your first time playing Warzone or you’ve returned after a long break due to the release of Black Ops 6, Battle Royale can be unforgiving, withyour only chance of redeployment relying on winning the Gulag or being revived from the shop.
Resurgence is more forgiving, as it allows you toredeploy as long as you have a teammate alive. There’s a timer, which can be reduced by eliminating enemies, looting chests, and completing other actions.
This mode takes place on asmaller mapcompared to the usual Battle Royale and can get intense.
However, it’s the perfect opportunity tofamiliarize yourself with the new movement mechanics,equipment, ground loot, and even practice your aim.
While Resurgence offers more redeployment opportunities than Battle Royale,it is fast-paced and intense, which is exactly what you need tosharpen your reflexes, improve mobility, and stay vigilant of your surroundings.
Once you’re comfortable with the movement and mechanics, you may dive intoBattle Royalemode. Things are different here;the map is larger, the player count is higher, and theaction doesn’t get intense until the last few circles.This allows you to loot freely and prepare for the final fight.

Adjust Your Settings
As you start getting the hang of Warzone, whether you’re playing on console or PC, it’s a no-brainer that you need toadjust your settings to fit your preferences. Things likesensitivityanddead zonecan have a bigger impact on your aim than you might think, and of course, themovementsettings to make it butter smooth.
Some players prefer a lower sensitivity to ensure they hit their shots, while others don’t mind having a higher sensitivity to play quickly.
Among other settings, we recommend experimenting withdifferent button layouts or keybinds, whether you’re using a controller or a mouse and keyboard, as everyone has their own preferences.
Personally, I can’t suggest anything for mouse and keyboard setups, but if you’re playing with a controller, Tactical Flipped has been my go-to setup for a while.
Movement is crucial in Warzone, as you’ll constantly be on the move, whether you’re in the thick of gunfire or navigating the map. Here are some movement settings that will help you stay more mobile in the game:
With all the available settings for movement, aiming, combat, and sound, it’s essential tocustomize them to your liking,just verify to take the time to fine-tune your settings.

Plan Where You Land
Whether it’s Urkistan, Rebirth Island, or Area 99,planning where to drop can make a huge difference in how your match plays out.
Landing in a high-traffic area where you’re able to spot two to three squads already dropping in might quickly result in you and your squad being sent back to the lobby and queuing for another match. This may not be the best strategy. However, it’s worthstaying in the air for a moment to observe where others are landing.
Aim to drop just a little farther away from them -not too far, so you’re still in position to push. This tactic allows the enemy squads to fight among themselves, potentially thinning their numbers and leaving them with low plates. Thisincreases your chances of eliminating the remaining squad and wiping them out.
Not only that, but if you land in a location where only your squad is,you’ll have all the loot to yourselves, allowing you to quickly gather what you need and get your loadout ready.
Loadout, UAVs, Push
When you start a Warzone match, all you have is a pistol, but there’s plenty of loot to grab and money to collect for the shop. The primary objective is for you and your teammates togather enough cash to buy a loadout.
Once you’re geared up, you’ll be prepared;your loadout will give you the best familiarity with how your weapons handle, their recoil patterns, and of course, your perks as well.
Loadouts
ensure you havea few loadouts already set up, with at least one featuring Overkill and another with Gunslinger.
The reason for this is that, withhow good the ground loot is, you can easily grab your favorite AR or SMG from the loadout, while the second weapon can be a gold-tier weapon found on the ground. However, if you redeploy in the final few rounds, it’s better to grab the Overkill loadout tosecure two weapons.
Another alternative ispurchasing individual loadout weapons directly from the shop, which is also something to consider.
UAVs
Now, if you have spare money, you canbuy at least two UAVs- one touse immediately to get an idea of enemy positions and your surroundings, and the second one tosecure for later use.
This is where communication with your team becomes crucial;decide whether you want to push the nearest enemy squad or hold your position.
Don’t be too cautious with your money;there’s usually enough loot around to justify spendingiton gas masks, self-revives, and maybe even keeping an airstrike on hand.
Push
When we say “push,“don’t do it recklessly-strategically plan your move.
For example, on Rebirth Island, if you land at Headquarters, it’s beneficial to push either Control Center or Factory. This will help you move further into the map, rather than losing the high ground and getting pushed back to Stronghold.
Always consider the circle’s movement,enemy positions revealed by UAVs, andhow well you and your squad are performing. It’s always better to deal with one squad at a time, rather than engaging with two or three that are already fighting.
Be smart about your push, and never go alone without notifying your teammates.
Sometimes Don’t Push
Sometimes, you just don’t want to lose the first gunfight and get sent back to the lobby, and that’s completely valid - it all comes down to your playstyle.Being the first one to push can feel intimidating, as you’re not sure if the enemy has their loadout or if they’re as prepared as you.
Holding your position and waiting for the enemy to push can sometimes give you an advantage, but don’t always rely on it.
Get A Specialist Whenever You Can
Previously, you couldn’t get perks unless you had your loadout, but thankfully, this has changed. Now,you may find random perks by looting chests, which can be especially helpful at the start of the match when you don’t have your loadout.
With Season One, it seems they’ve made it easier to find these perks in abundance.
But why settle for one perk with one advantage when you canhave a perk that gives you all of them? That’s whereSpecialistcomes in. If you’ve played Warzone before, you know why this is a must-have whenever you get the chance.
Specialist grants you every perk available in Warzone, providing a huge advantage. To obtain it, you need totrade a Redacted Weapon- one with eight attachments -at any Weapon Trading Station.

Communicate And Stick To Your Squad
Unless you’re playing solo, this section isn’t for you, but if you’re in a duo, trio, or squad,communication is crucial. Many players push carelessly or fail to land with their squad, which doesn’t just affect them-it puts the entire team at a disadvantage.
Once your squad has the loadout,try to stick together, whether you’re pushing a building, engaging an enemy team, or countering a squad that’s pushing you.
Ping, Ping, Ping
When you spot an enemy team, don’t just say, “He’s there.“Your squad’s POV isn’t the same as yours, so it’s important tospecify exactly where “there” is.Always use pings. Pings notify the entire squad of enemy positions, making it easier to react accordingly.
Even when you’re down,use pings to let your teammates know if it’s safe to revive you or if the enemy is still nearby, possibly using you as bait to lure the rest of your squad in.
Another huge tip is that even if you’re eliminated,take advantage of the kill cam. It can help you inform your teammates if the enemy is alone or where their teammates are.
Every piece of intel you provide can be crucialto your team’s success and wining the match.
How About A Break?
Warzone can be overwhelming, frustrating, and downright infuriating- and that’s completely normal. Some days will go in your favor, and others won’t, and that’s okay.
If you’re not feeling it,take a break. Switch to Multiplayer or Zombies, or even better, shut the game off, get some fresh air, have a snack, and drink some water.
You won’t play well if you’re tired or frustrated, and pushing through can just make things worse. So, relax and remember, at the end of the day,it’s just a game.
