Warframe’s1999 update has added a ton of new equipment for players to chase. One of the best weapons added in this update is the Reconifex, a massive LMG that has a timed reload mechanic that’s similar to the Sirocco. Reload your weapon at the right moment, and you’ll gain Heat-infused rounds and an instant reload animation.
It’s one of the stronger bullet hose primaries in Warframe and is incredibly easy to use, provided you don’t mind timing your reloads. This guide will cover everything you need to know about the Reconifex, ranging from acquisition methods to endgame builds for Steel Path and beyond.
How To Get The Reconifex
The Reconifex can be obtained from1999 bounties andThe Hex Syndicate rewards. You will sometimes see the Reconifex appear as a potential reward from Hex bounties in Hollvania, a content hub you’ll unlock upon completing “The Hex” quest. Complete the bounty to obtain any item from the reward pool, which can include a Reconifex part.
If RNG isn’t on your side, you may alsopurchase any Reconifex blueprint from Amir Beckett in the Hollvania hub. You’ll need to be Rank 4: Hot & Fresh to purchase these component blueprints. The main blueprint costs 15,000 Standing, while each component blueprint costs 5,000.

The Reconifex is a bullet-hose primary, featuring a massive 200-round magazine and high critical stats. It’s effectively the Soma’s big brother. Unlike the Soma, theReconifex has a perfect reload mechanic. If you tap the reload key partway into the animation, you’ll instantly finish the reload animation andgain 25% extra Heat damagefor the rest of the magazine.
The Heat damage acts like Cyte-09’s Resupply buff, adding forced Heat damageafterall damage is calculated. Each round also inflicts guaranteed Heat status.
If you can time your reloads correctly, the Reconifex reloads in just over a second and has roughly 50 base damage withguaranteedHeat status per shot. It’s an incredibly strong primary weapon if you can master the reload mechanic. Throw on Galvanized Aptitude and some elemental mods, and you have one of the strongest bullet hose weapons in all of Warframe.
Reconifex Builds
We’ll be showing two Reconifex builds today, one with no Forma investment and another that’s min-maxed for Steel Path content. You’ll likely be quite far into Warframe’s mid to late-game systems by the time you can unlock the Reconifex, so we’ll be using some fairly high-cost mods in these builds. If you don’t own them, feel free to use non-Primed variants.
Variant
Reconifex
Since the Reconifex has a solid status chance for an LMG, we can useGalvanized Aptitudeto greatly buff the weapon’s base damage. We get guaranteed Heat procs from its perfect reload mechanic, so let’s add a few more elements by creatingViralwithPrimed Cryo RoundsandMalignant Force. We can then throw in Radiation damage withRadiated Reload, which also speeds up the gun’s lengthy reload animation.
You’ll want to scale critical stats on the Reconifex as well.Critical Delaywill greatly buff your critical chance at the cost of fire rate, whileVital Sensewill buff your critical damage. Throw onGalvanized Chamberfor some extra multishot to complete the build. And if you have a spare Arcane Adapter, throw on Primary Merciless for even more damage.
Use Reinforced Bond on your companion to increase the Reconifex fire rate.
Warframes that buff your fire rate, such as Gaussand Harrow, make great use of this weapon’s large magazine.
Now that we have our damage bases covered, it’s time to scale the Reconifex’s fire rate. We’ll be using the same mod configuration as before—Galvanized AptitudeandChamberfor more damage and multishot, respectively, alongsidePrimed Cryo RoundsandMalignant Forcefor Viral damage. For critical stats,Critical DelayandVital Senseare ideal for this weapon.
But that fire rate penalty from Critical Delay is quite severe, so we’ll be fixing that with two mods:Primed ShredandVile Acceleration. This will drastically increase your fire rate and give you some much-needed punch through.
