Summary
One of the biggest changes made when Black Ops 6 Season One begun and its guns were added toCall of Duty: Warzonewas the switch to making Melee weapons a customizable option in loadouts on top of your main weapons. There’s now no need to equip one in one of your two weapons slots.
While there’s always some personal preference when it comes to picking which melee weapon is best for you - you may want to go for looking cool over anything else - there are some options that are more useful than others when sprinting around either the main large maps of the smaller Resurgence ones.

Black Ops 6 only had two melee options at launch. The basic and most useful option is the Knife. It doesn’t have a fancy name, it looks just as you’d expect, and is extremely quick. In Warzone, you’ll besprinting wildly across the mapwith it equipped, slicing enemies into pieces.
Itcombines manoeuvrability with one-hit kills, so you’re not swinging away at enemies wildly hoping a couple of swipes hit. You can be more precise than with other melee weapons. The knife, the Combat Knife, and Karambit all have the best melee weapon sprint speed in Warzone, so they’ll all be as quick as each other.
While the Black Ops 6 knife is something everyone with Black Ops 6 should have, there’s also a Modern Warfare 2 option called the Combat Knifethat you could use instead, if you prefer.
Dual Options
Modern Warfare 2
They were part of the MW2 Season 2 battle pass, but may return in the store.
Medium
Yes
The Dual Kodachis area great mix of looking cool and actually useful. As one of the few optionsyou can dual wieldin Warzone, you look funny running around with them. However, is there anything cooler than slicing through enemies at close range with a couple of swords?
They do high damage and have a decent reach on them, but they’re just on the lower end for mobility in comparison to other melee weapons. They’re not slow by any means; just not as fast as the likes of the knife.
The Dual Kodachis are perfect if you’re after a mix of useful and looking good.
The Soulrender is the correct choice for someone who’s trying to look cool rather than be functional in Warzone. The long sword, which was unlocked in Modern Warfare 3, looks phenomenal in the battle royale.
There’s a disappointing lack of a dual wield option, butyou can helpfully kill enemies from further away than with the likes of the knife. It has slightlyworse handling than the other MW3 melee weapon options, but none make you look as cool as the Soulrender. Pair it with an equallycool skin for your Operatorand you’ll be unstoppable, even if you don’t actually win the game.
Modern Warfare 3
Armory Unlock in MW3. Was previously unlocked by completing five weekly challenges.
The Sledgehammer is the other useful option for melee weapons in Warzone. However, its strengths and weaknesses are the opposite of the knife’s. While it can be slow and cumbersome, it has the longest range of any melee weapon in Warzone.
The Sledgehammer also kills in just two hits, so you’ll be killing enemies quickly if you’re able to land your hits. The lower mobility of the weapon does mean you need to be more precise with your attacks. It takes a while for your character to attack again after the first one.
Since this is a Modern Warfare 3 melee weapon, you’ll have to head back to that game to unlock it if you didn’t last year.
