9Taoqi

Taoqi is a versatile Havoc-based support character whose trademark ability is to provide a team-wide shield. Her kit also emphasizes boosting Resonance Skill damage for allies through her Outro, making her an excellent companion for any characters who rely on their Skill for most of their DPS output.

Taoqi also brings additional utility with DEF buffs to the active carrier of her shield, enabling her team to tank through damage that might otherwise prove fatal. The defensive scaling on her Ultimate means thatTaoqi isn’t relianton high attack stats, freeing you up to focus her stats on Energy Regen or Defense. Toaqi admittedly has the drawback of slow animations. However, if you’re crafting a team around Resonance Skills, or want some more survivability, she is a great addition to your team.

8Chixia

Chixia is a flashy Fusion DPS character, designed for fast-paced combat and high burst damage. Chixia thrives on a steady stream of her passive Thermobaric Bullets, which are required to unleash her powerful DAKA DAKA! shooting state. After consuming 30 bullets, she unleashes a burst of damage that can easily whack through a bosses health bar.

However, Chixia is not without weaknesses. She lacks inherent defensive tools, making careful positioning and dodging essential to avoid interrupting her DAKA DAKA state. Chixia shines in teams focused on boosting her impressive Skill damage. While it takes some time to master her rotation against enemies who could potentially interrupt her, Chixia offers a satisfying blend of speed and power for aggressive players.

7Aalto

Aalto is a smooth-talking sub DPS specialist who excels at buffing main DPS characters, particularly Aero Resonators. His abilities are a little bit complicated to pull off to their max potential, but his huge 23 percent Aero DMG Outro buff makes him an ideal choice for any Aero DPS character that follows his rotation. Aalto can also deal significant damage in his own right if built with a focus on damage.

Whether you’re a new player or an experienced veteran, Aalto’s high potential skill ceiling will allow you to maximize your damage potential as long as you may master his positioning.

6Yangyang

Yangyang shines asa utility-focused support, leveraging her Aero elemental skills to support the team with buffs and crowd control. Her ability to stun and group enemies together with her Skill and Ultimate makes her great for setting up your DPS to knock them down.

While her damage output isn’t anything to write home about, her value lies in setting up allies for success through crowd control and Energy generation. Yangyang also has the benefit of requiring very low field-time due to her quick Concerto rotation. If you’re in need of a flexible Support, it’s hard to go wrong with Yangyang.

5Baizhi

Baizhi is likely everyone’s first Healer, so it’s very fortunate for all of us that she is also universally useful. Her Glacio-based kit provides plenty of healing while also boosting allies' attack stats, allowing her to slot into just about any team composition in the game. She also has the added bonus of being easy to play, simply requiring basic attacks to build charges for her Skill and Ultimate.

While it’s true that she falls a bit short when directly compared to her five-star counterpart, Verina, Baizhi will always be able to find a team where she will be useful.

4Danjin

If the idea of bringing Dark Souls difficulty in Wuthering Waves appeals to you, Danjin is your girl. She embraces a berserker-like playstyle, sacrificing HP for massive Havoc damage. Her unique approach means that you will need to dodge almost every attack, but if you’re willing to balance the risk of her self-inflicted damage, her damage will be immense.

Built-in healing in her kit offers some reprieve, but make no mistake, you will often be literally living on the edge. Whether as a primary or sub DPS, Danjin’s ability to dish out massive damage at the cost of her survivability makes her a niche but powerful option for those willing to master her.

3Youhu

Youhu brings a mix of Glacio damage and healing, offering both offensive and support capabilities. By correctly gathering her Auspice charges, Youhu can bring great team-wide healing along with other benefits.

She also currently has the unique ability to provide Coordinated Attack amplification, which makes her inherently valuable. This significant 100 percent damage boost to the incoming resonator’s Coordinated Attacks is a huge buff and shouldn’t be overlooked. Her versatility makes her adaptable to almost all team needs, making her even more flexible than Baizhi, albeit harder to play. With a well-timed Resonance Liberation, Youhu can shift between her roles seamlessly, providing critical support or burst damage when needed.

2Mortefi

Mortefi is undoubtedly one of the best four-star characters thanks to his heavy attack synergy, strong off-field damage output, and quick concerto rotation. His Resonance Liberation boosts to heavy attack damage allow him to seamlessly pair with high-damage DPS characters like Jiyan.

Mortefi is also an uncomplicated character to play, and his straightforward skill set makes him accessible for all players. With additional sequences Mortefi because even stronger, able to compete with his five-star cousins.Mortefi has so muchgoing for him, and this easily cements his position as one of the most valuable sub DPS units in Wuthering Waves.

1Sanhua

With lightning fast concerto rotations, Sanhua delivers frequent burst damage which allows her to dominate the space as a sub DPS. She also provides Basic Attack bonuses as her Outro Skill, allowing her to jump in, deal massive damage, and switch off to your now buffed DPS.

Sanhua’s consistent and powerful damage output make her a prime Hybrid character option if you’re seeking a reliable, low-maintenance character. As an added bonus, you also get her for free!
