9You Can Change Your Game’s Difficulty Mid-Story
At the start of your first Fairy Tail 2 game file, you’ll be prompted to choose a difficulty level. Each mode tailors the gameplay experience to different preferences:
If you ever feel like the difficulty isn’t right, whether you want to amp up the challenge or make progress on a tough boss, you can adjust it mid-game. Simply open the Settings menu from the Main Menu, navigate to Options and then Game Settings, and select a new difficulty level that better suits your playstyle.
8Use Multiple Characters In Photo Mode
Fairy Tail 2 offers a fun and detailed Photo Mode, allowing you to capture Instagram-worthy screenshots of your characters, enemies, and monsters. After encountering a character in the game, they become available in this mode, letting you choose up to 11 characters to feature in your shots.
Make sure to exit the character selection tool before adjusting the zoom, or you may accidentally adjust the character’s y-axis instead.

6One-Hit KO Enemies In The Overworld
As you progress through each region in Fiore, the monsters will grow stronger. However, once you reach a certain Origin Level, weaker monsters will recognize your strength and flee upon spotting you, except for those summoned by Magic Pools.
Attack strong monsters before engaging in battle, too, to receive an advantage in battle.
At this point, you have two options: let the monsters escape or rush forward and attack them directly on the field. Doing so will instantly defeat them, granting you their loot drops without entering a battle sequence. This method is an efficient way to farm Origin Points, especially when preparing for challenging boss encounters.
5Prioritize Challenging King Monsters
Each region in Fiore features its own unique King Monster, serving as optional boss battles that are significantly stronger than the surrounding enemies. In addition to providing valuable loot upon defeat, conquering each King Monster unlocks Plue and Rock locations on the region’s map. These points are essential for efficiently farming materials needed to unlock powerful techniques and buffs for your party.
Every King Monster comes with a distinct set of abilities and elemental affinities. Some of these bosses can even cycle through multiple elements during battle, adding a layer of complexity. At the beginning of combat, take a moment to analyze the King’s stats and adjust your party setup accordingly. Pay close attention to potential status ailments and keep Wendy in your lineup to cast Raise.
4Build Your Team For More Than Just Strength
Every playable character brings their own strengths and abilities to the table, but raw power varies among them. However, this does not make them any less important when crafting a well-rounded strategy, since support and tank characters play a critical role in ensuring your DPS units can operate at peak efficiency.
Wendy’s AI tends to prioritize her attack skills over healing and recovery. If you need timely heals, it’s best to control her manually.
Building a team with complementary skills and utilizing characters' strengths effectively will give you the upper hand as you tackle even the toughest challenges Fairy Tail 2 throws at you.
3Start Unlocking Locations Early
In Fairy Tail 2, quests will take you across the vast regions of Fiore. Once fast-travel is unlocked, you can teleport to key points such as the Fairy Tail Guild, Camp Fires, and Locations, making travel much easier. Most quest objectives will conveniently be located near these waypoints.
During your initial visit to a region, you’ll often be directed toward the Camp Fires as part of the story. However, it’s worth taking the time to explore the area thoroughly and unlock all nearby Locations. Doing so not only grants access to hidden treasures but also drastically reduces travel time for subsequent quests.
2Use Check Terminology To Keep Up With The Lore

1Pre-Plan Your Combos
After accumulating enough SP, you’re able to execute special attacks, which can be chained into powerful combos. While a character is performing their special attack, you can stack subsequent moves, queuing up the next action in advance. This process can continue until your SP is depleted. If you haven’t exhausted your regular attacks, you can seamlessly transition into them after completing your special skills, maximizing your damage output.
This combo mechanic also applies to Unison Raids, which are devastating team-based attacks. During a Unison Raid, you can pre-select the follow-up attack your character will perform once the raid concludes, allowing you to chain the momentum of the Unison Raid into additional devastating strikes. Properly leveraging this system is key to dominating tough battles and optimizing your team’s synergy.
