Astro Bot was named 2024’s Game of the Yearat The Game Awards, and to celebrate, PlayStation’s mascot has been turned into a Funko Pop for the very first time. Shortly after Astro’s GOTY win, Funko revealed its newest Pop, complete with pre-order details, price, and when you’re able to expect the figure to ship.
PlayStation and Funko aren’t two brands you might normally associate with one another since,outside of Spider-Man 2, it’s been a while since any of PlayStation’s leading characters were given the Funko Pop treatment. Since Astro’s rise to fame has mostly taken place during the PS5 era, and he only starred in his first full game three months ago, there hasn’t really been an opportunity to turn him into a Funko Pop.
However, what better excuse to finally make that happen thanAstro Botwinning Game of the Year? The packaging for the Astro Bot Pop even has a little Game of the Year 2024 badge stamped on it. A neat detail, and I’m assuming there are renders out there with a box that doesn’t have that badge in case the game didn’t win. Either that or every game of the year nominee had a Pop but they’ve all been thrown in the bin since they didn’t win. Sucks to be you, Messmer the Impaler.

As well as being made to look less like a Bot and more like a Funko Pop, Astro has been given a shiny silver makeover. The bot’s boosters are on and he’s attached to a transparent stand that comes with the figure to make it look like he’s floating an inch or two above the floor.
The special edition Funko Pop is $25and pre-orders are available now. The figure has been in high demand but its pre-order period doesn’t end until June 27, 2025. The wait for the Pop to ship is a long one withits release confirmed for Jun 16, 2025.
