Ultrakillis one of the most influential indie boomer shooters to come out in a long time, which itself is influenced by none other than the Quake and the Devil May Cry series. It has a blend of intensely fast-paced gameplay with a style score system, having a fair share of secrets spread all over the levels hidden in plain sight.

With the tendency to find these secrets, you will come around gray-colored terminals that lead to secret stages. Almost every layer has its own secret stage, and to access them you may have to complete a few steps. Here’s their location.

Ultrakill is currently in early access! While most parts of the game are available, the last set of layers is yet to be released and everything else is subject to change. This guide will be updated simultaneously with the upcoming game updates.

Prelude Secret Stage Location

In the prelude layer’s mission 0-2, head to thefirst mandatory room and clear out all enemies there. After the next pathway unlocks,look for a fallen ventand jump above to finda blue skeletonthat will give you access to the secret stage terminal.

Before the final room, you will be able tospectate Swordsmachineclearing out enemies in a room opposite to you. Once he moves outside,go into the final roomand slideunder the meat smashersthat lead to a secret pathway. Keep right and near a blue orb, you will be able tofind a breakable ventthat will give you access to the Blue Skeleton hub room.Place the skullto reveal the secret stage terminal, and jump down to initiate it.

Once a secret stage is unlocked, you can always access it from the level selection screen from the main menu.

Act 1 Secret Stages Location

At the beginning of Hell,there are two secret stagesfor you to discover around the three layers.

1-S Location

The foremost secret stage in the first act is located in level 1-1 of the Limbo layer.After defeating the two Cerberiand entering hell through Dante’s Inferno,you will come across a fountainwith aCerberuson top of it.Toss a coinin the fountain, and it will reveal a secret passage leading downwards.

The secret stage in the first layer will consist of multiple’Connect The Dots' mini-games.

2-S Location

In the Lust layer’s stage 2-3,Sheer Heart Attack, clear out the first area of enemies and headinside the only unlocked doorthat leads to a waterfall-esque room. A cluster of enemies will spawn; clear them out andlook behind the waterfall source; there you can find the second secret stage.Clear out every nook and corner of the stage tofind three fuse boxes, break them and the waterfall will stop, giving you access to the secret stage.

The second secret stage is something you’d never expect out of a boomer shooter;a 2-D dating simulator.

Similar to the first act, there aretwo secret stages.

4-S Location

The sandy Greed layer is full of wonders, and to unlock the secret stage inlevel 4-2, God Damn The Sun,rush forward to the huge infrastructure with two Cerberi. Move left andcrouch through a tight spacethat leads to a Red Malicious Face mark,opening the secret doorunder the building.

Pick up thecrescent moon rockfrom the room and make your way to the top of the building. At the end, you will find a platform where you mustplace the crescent moonand, suddenly, the night will fall. Return to the level’sinitial red terminaland find the brightest star behind it. You willfind the secret level terminal right below the star, leading you into a mini-game inspired by theclassic Crash Bandicoot.

5-S Location

To find the secret stage in the fifth layer’slevel 5-1, progress through the level usually.Collect all the skeletonsto open the main door, and once you reach the jump pad, look left andjump onto the first metal support.Break the ventand crawl through to reach the secret stage’s terminal.

This secret stage consists of afishing mini-game, and after you catch all the fish, the exit terminal will pop up.

Act Three Secret Stages Location

Since thegame is in early accessand the last two layers have yet to be released, there’s only a single secret stage available.

7-S Location

Unlocking layer seven’s secret stage in level 7-3 is quite tricky. To do so, progress through the level until youmeet two Street Cleanersafter clearing and feeding the second tree with blood. Lead the street cleaners to the main tree,and jump off the barricades.

Since Street Cleaners cannot jump themselves,grappleandpull one of them down. Return to the initial ‘Feed Us, We Will Grow’ gravestone and use the Street Cleaner’s fireto burn off the leaveson the door to your right. Once done, kill the Street Cleaner and through that door,you may enter the secret levelwhere you must wash every drop of blood that you spill.

The Street Cleaners can parry and dodge yourgrapple hook only once.
